PG: i'm a westie so can only give u info fr the west. clementi central has one with this old man wearing a straw hat holding the wok. he never looks up. his son mans the stall w him. his CTK RAWKS. i prefer the white version. but be prepared to wait if u're tabao-ing. gota line up coz they wun allow u to order then come back later to collect. usually sold out by late morn.

i dun know if this is the one u are referring to..but there's one @ toa payoh called Chey Sua Carrot Cake blk 131 Lor 1 Toa Payoh. my frens swear by this one.

Fu Ming Shu Shi at Block 85 Bukit Merah food centre is my all time favourite (not to be confused with another stall at the same FC). The texture is fantastic, soft and smooth. To me he is truly the master - no one can do it like him.

It's quite unlike Chey Sua at Block 127 Toa Payoh food centre, which is very crispy on the outside, or Block 107 Ang Mo Kio which is great if you love it with loads of egg.

ratatouille: u read my post? i recommended one in amk ave 4, blk 107

to me, a good carrot cake needs to hv sufficient amt of real chai tao and also good use of the turnips in the 'cake'. Den aft tt is to b stir fried really well, hv some 'wok hei'. If wanna add chilli, den the chilli must b those belacan type...cannot b the sweet type.

for the black ones, same as above...black sauce evenly spread out and not b overly/sickeningly sweet.

It's a few minutes walk away from Mellben AMK, across the road over at the Kebun Baru side. By the way, he only opens at night and his signboard is really "Chai Tow Kueh" in Chinese characters, so make sure you look or else you might miss it. He throws in so much egg that some will think they're eating omelette.

As a side comment, the Fried Hokkien Mee at the same coffeeshop is pretty good too.

nowadays, all thanks to the inflation, chai tow kway is just chai tow kway.... not much egg, not much chai-po... hardly can find the prawns in it (now bcome tiny shrimps - some dont even have shrimps)... so sad.

but i guess 1 of the places i enjoy chai tow kway, is the 1 at makansutra (next to esplanade)
  3.
the chai tow kway from one of the stalls at bukit timah market is nice! can't remember the name of the stall (there are qt a few stalls selling the same thing) but i know it only sells the white kind, from $2 a plate. there's a generous amt of egg so the chai tow kway sort of looks like a square piece of yellow pizza. i like it alot cos it's slightly crispy and the chilli tastes gd :) but i haven't eaten there for qt a while so i duno if the quality has changed...
  4.
oh! its the one that has the channel U recommendation right.
  5.
[Blues Almighty] actually i have no idea! somehow i can recognise the stall right away when i go to bukit timah mkt but i can't describe what it looks like ><

Try Bukit Timah food center - opposite Beauty World, they have 3-4 stalls to choose from and all are unique.
  6.
Yes Bukit Timah one is good. I like the one at the extreme end, corner store, the most.

mmm...TB ctk so-so leh , mmm...I usually get my fix from zion road hawker centre. The hawker is deaf, and I like his white ctk, mmm...but texture of ctk not consistent leh...sometimes can be too soft, its not the BEST, still looking for the best...

ice , m keen on the celmenti central suggestion. is it in the main FC? near the famous fried prawn noodles?
