hahaha. its like a old habit already? especially in the office areas during lunch.

using of tissue seems so weird, at least one person stay there while the rest go and get their food

Actually, wat's the difference between leaving a person to chop a seat and a tissue huh? I dun understand why u guys are so negative abt using tissue to chop lor... Imagine you are alone, who's gonna chop seat for you huh? Split urself up meh? And it's silly to walk ard the place with a bowl of food, looking for seats.

And hor even if eating in a group, the person left behind to chop seat oso very poor thing mah..

Ha, I support tissue policy! =p

i say it deprives the singles like me a seat...this chop-ping thing :(

      CommentAuthorBearytedd (CommentTimeFeb 23rd 2008)

aiya, then u oso put tissue lor... cant be everywhere oso got tissue paper de mah... =p

The question is, if you are there early, then you see an empty table. You mean you wont chop the seat with sth first ar? What if after u queue finish for your food, then the table taken by somebody leh and there's no other empty tables le? I'm thinking from the viewpoint of ppl dining alone bah. So actually, it doesnt deprive you a seat, just that you got to be earlier to spot an empty seat first lor! Keke..

And of coz, I totally agree with sharing of tables, esp during peak lunch hour. It is definitely ridiculous if 1 person is taking up a table of four, and refusing to share with strangers. So far, i think ppl are still willing to share bah, just got to ask lor.

    NO to tissue chopping...its KS!!!

I can understand if u r a single person n place ur heavy bag on the chair, n if there's no tissue chopping there's no worries abt getting a sit later aft I purchase my food.

placing tissue on table is rude and selfish, it deprives others who are ready to eat a space, which delay the eating process...which in turn limit the number of seats available..the turn over will be slow...

for group (2 n more ppl), one person wait at table while the rest go get their food... thats understandable as its difficult to get table for group. its also couteous to inform others that u have a group and the seats are taken.

    DOWN with KS inconsiderate behaviour.

i agree sc..i alwez put a bag down at my seat if im alone..and keep my eye on the bag if im purchasing my food...tho usually if im alone i alwez takeaway the food over eating alone..sumtymz even if wer in a group..same thing..juz put the bag there and take important belongings..or ill just purchase the food item for my fren
  3.
haha if you put tissue at the place, i cant be sure that it is taken and i won't sit there. if you put a bag, it is more likely that someone is chopping the seat and not accidentally left it behind. so i guess if you leave a tissue to chop place, dun get mad if people take your seat!

but bags might get stolen...losing a bag even without important stuff just for lunch doesnt seem worth it.....but using the tissue option seems very popular esp in cbd area.

u know what they should to...know those lights at the top of parkin spaces @ shoppin centers...make it sumthin coin or cashcard friendly. maybe deposit 20 cents and recieve a ticket with the number of the table and the light will turn red..no1 can sit there and if they do..simply show the number and they have to go byebye..just a rough idea..haha..soundds nuts

haha yeah thats what i thought also..i guess there is no "proper" way to chop seats when alone..its like a survival of the fittest

i personally think chopping of seats w tissue paper is v crude..but this is subjective. to me there r better alternatives

haha..chop with hp later the hp go bye bye
  6.
maybe can set up a booth at the food court renting out tags tt say "reserved". ppl can pay to rent them before they go buy food n use them to chop seats, then return after eating n get refund.
  7.
haha or do like marche! but cant be sure people wun turn it over and take your seat lah.
  8.
what does marche do? nv been there before..
  9.
they put a sign that you can flip to reserved while you go buy your food (: if its available then the sign will be flipped to available.

I bet the guy that sold tissue was the guy that started this whole chopping seat thing. Helps his sales.

Noticed that there are a lot of ppl, esp the younger group (no offence here), who like to chop seats with their bags and then disappear to go buy their food. i.e., bags there, ppl not there.
To me, this is not a v street smart thing to do leh. Find it kinda complacent. Later bags kena stolen how? Wats more nowadays, the bags carried these days are no more those bend-over brand (???). Mostly are crumpler, addias, nike, etc etc...Brands tt catch attn for stealing
Wat u guys and gals think?

erm i usually put my bags there...along with one goon sittin down...but usually when the seats are very near and wer both nutzo hungry n cannot wait for the other we will leave our bags(wic are usually the $15-20 bags frm bugis) n go walk arnd...but we will constantly look out for the bags and once one person decides what to get 1 will go back to the seats n the other will order the food...plus in a highly puclic area i doubt anypne will openly juz walk up n take the bad...

actually its possible for ppl who jus openly walk up and take the bag....u never know...

i feel, its actually a gd habit to always hv ppl jagaring the bags at least...its a lesson taught from lotsa ppl, esp seasoned travellers...and i hv seen the openly taking of bag scenario overseas...

wats happening overseas, doesnt mean not possible here...

dun forget, population still growing.....aim to reach 6mil u know...and wif the influx of ppl frm all walks of life wif all the upcoming activities...really...u never know...

"chop seat", for those who use their tissue paper to chop... too bad, i take it as they're sponsoring me tissue paper in case my meal gets messy.

cos if ppl can claim that its legitimate to use tissue paper to chop seat, then my answer to them would be:

me: sorry, but i believe u're in my seat
stranger: sorry, i chop the seat using my tissue paper already
me: lidat also counted? i dun see your name on the tissue paper
stranger: yes, its mine & my frens can attest
me: bollocks to u... and i think u made a mistake....
    stranger: what mistake?
me: u're sitting on my booger~!~! dont believe can use DNA to test.
