Any other places wif good fish soup?

So far I love fish soup at a corner coffeeshop along Upp Thomson Road (turning to Sin Ming) and another stall at Sembawang Hill Food Centre (the boss invents his own money changer, etc)

piao ji fish porridge at amoy str food centre level 2, but their queues are very long be prepared to wait at lest 1/2 hr - 45 min even on a sunday when there is no office crowd. soup has those crispy dried fish thingys sprinkled in it which gives it its unique fishy? taste. $5 for batang soup $7 for pomfret soup. oh but the owners are quite eh...nazis too.

blanco court fried fish soup at china sq food centre. soup is unique coz besides fish, there is also fried egg added. a bit oily though.

rui ji fish porridge at market str food centre. soup is very light and cheng, the teochew kind. they use batang fish for the soup.

    1. Jing Hua for its rich milky-style fish soup, long queues expected (Stall #77 Maxwell Road Food Centre)
    2. For fish soup with a dose of XO, try Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon (located at Blk 46 Holland Drive #01-359). You can smell the brandy wafting out!

MN: the fish soup at the AMK Hub foodcourt is so-so only..milk is put into the soup...i dun like...the one at upp thomson tt i mentioned, the 'slight milky' look of the soup is cos of boiling the fish bones long enuff to get tt look..not cos of milk...mmmmmmmmm slurp...

amoy str one i know...but q always super long so no try...:( blanco court one haven try...

Does the Holland Village XO Fish Bee Hoon count?
    •
      CommentAuthorShu Yen (CommentTimeMar 5th 2008)

There are 2 branches for Blanco Court Fish Bee Hoon.
Personally, I prefer the one found opposite The Concourse.
Always ask for sliced bittergourd and no milk to taste the goodness of the soup.

ice, i think it depends how central is central, n radius distance to the core of cbd lor.
different ppl have different definition for central also. i think lavendar, kallang, aljunied, tg pagar, outram... r still considerably quite central, since its probably 1 zone outta the cbd area only.

cos if we're going by the map of sg, the center of sg is nothing bt reservoirs n nature reserve

    1) the chinatown multi-storey mkt.
    2) there's another that i'd patronize at the basement of beach rd army mkt too.
    3) i think there's another 1 that's doing pretty well along; geylang rd (adjacent to lorong 20) - stall name "Qiang" in chinese.

coincidently, these stall owners love to hang the fish carcasses for display. i guess it serves pretty well for stirring curiousity of the tastebuds.

ice... hope the above listed r central enough by your standards?
