seeto , makan sutra, for in your face type of review, but not all his reviews are to my taste

jamie oliver, simple cooking is the best

nagella, a cook who loves to eat and cook, what a lucky family she has

nancy lam, crazy energistic, australian malaysian chinese while her husband is so calm

oh man i was going to start a discussion on this but sc u beat me to it...

yep, nigella exemplifies gastro-porn. her recipes are very simple and heart warming. plus she makes u think there's only the cooking and eating part. = no washing needed

my fav duo would be Guy & Michael Rubino. sori may sound a bit cliche but i'm a sucker for food aesthetics. maybe that's why i love Jap..

ps: i think we watch too much discovery channel.

here's another crazy idea...how abt a monthly or bi-monthly 5min pod cast review comp by members (select the top 5 to be posted)

well it doesn't have to be a comp...it will be our own HGW online podcast review, can be group or individual effort.

what do u guys n gals think???

long before all the new age critically acclaimed makan guru & chefs on tv came about... i recall salivating while watching the culinary programs of Fang-tai, along with other cooking programs on tv, while i was growing up in the 1980's.... the classic phrase most commonly used “???????” or “????”...etc.

anyway's i guess i kinda enjoy watching hell's kitchen, and some of jamie oliver's episodes.

seeto's makansutra is not too bad either, though i find some of the places recommended r quite inaccessible, especially for those without wheels.

ya, i was quite impressed that it solves quite a fair bit of physical problems.... bt they forgot to mention that there's also other effects in due process ie; garlic breath + NUCLEAR calibre gas emission from down under.
    •
      CommentAuthorSCdreamer (CommentTimeMar 3rd 2008)

hahaha...I think any man with ED n CHD would put up with those, n their partners will most likely be supportive too...

I like the adam n eve diet too...its a good prog but i always miss it ...have only caught abt 3 episodes...

    •
      CommentAuthorcaniggia (CommentTimeMar 4th 2008)

actually, there're plenty of other ingredients readily available in the fruits & vege section that solve ED & CHD too. FYI, it's been touted that parsley & corriander can do wonders too. needless to say, they add color & flavor to the food too - and the odor is not as drastic as garlic. heheh

ground pepper, ginger, lemon grass, onion & lotsa other herbs/spice can do wonders for the physical aspects too.

I like Sam Leong from Tung Lok for his quirky Mandarin.

I have to say I hate KF Seeto of Makansutra for setting up the abomination called Glutton's Bay at Esplanade. The food there sucks BIG time.
    •
      CommentAuthorcaniggia (CommentTimeMar 6th 2008)

sam leong's culinary is sometimes quite interesting & easy to do... all it takes is inspiration + creativity.

the makan place at esplanade is actually not too bad. some stalls i'd agree r a lil sub-standard, bt some r pretty good.

I don't have cable at home, so I watch mainly free to air channels, so very much a localised taste when it comes to favourite food programme or host. I like those food programmes with no hosts, like Da Xiao Tong Chi and Fei Chao Ren, as they are likely not to be bias in their comments.

And for entertainment value, I watch Mei Shi Da San Tong by Zeng Guo Cheng and of course all time fav Makansutra founder, Seeto...
