Hey, any of you guys know of a serious cooking school in Singapore (like Cordon Bleu)? Not one of those chi chi tai tai ones but a proper certificate or diploma type course that you can do part time?

CRM: the courses are quite comprehensive. did u check out the details online? I once did, thought they were quite detailed. plus i believe they do tie up with SIM in offering a bachelor degree in something i cant quite rem...this cooking school is quite recognized from my knowledge... plus EX man!

cool, i will call them. my parents did something there when they first started and my mum didn't think much about it.

wish we had a Cordon Bleu here...

CRM: that u can get a bachelor degree...

Depends on whether you want to be a professional chef, business owner or home cook.
Shatec would be more relevant than SIM's. Cordon Bleu is costly so do your calculations if you can earn the returns back in a few years if at all. Creative Culinaire issues certificate but not sure if that's the sort you are after?

more home cooking but serious level.....

CRM, why do you want to know about cooking schools? I've heard of the Bent Fork by the Michelangelo group...don't know if it's any good.

I wanna learn cooking too!!! I wanna be Chef Chan Kwok's protege! Btw, Chef Chan Kwok is the head of Huating restaurant. :)

My mum just came into my room and saw what I was typing. She said, wah lau, you wanna learn from some stranger?? Learn from me first! All the basics...e.g., how to peel potatoes...haha...

    Hi CRM,

Beginning of last year, I was also considering whether to purse my career in culinary skills and I actually dropped by @sunrise twice! The kitchen and mgmt of the school looks very professional and I happen to know a friend who is doing his course there - and I can tell you his food is fabulous!

I actually posted some photos here which hopefully you might find it useful. :)

I don't really fancy pastries. More cooking cooking. Thanks for the suggestions. Seems that my initial impressions for at-sunrise may have been misplaced. Will definately look into that.
