Dude, where are you watching football? Ming's Pub across the road?
    •
      CommentAuthorRatatouille (CommentTimeMar 29th 2008)

hey contrarian. is that a nice place to catch football? i have never been to ming's pub.
    •
      CommentAuthorcontrarian (CommentTimeMar 29th 2008 edited)

Yeah I watched a match there. Looked for the next place in the neighbourhood to watch football after the Wine Flair closed down.

Now that it's smoke free, and it's renovated, it's quite a surprising find in a row of 1960s shophouses. Ming's Pub has been there since the 1970s, but it's different now. Neighbourhood pub kind of thing, not very common in Singapore because not many village types still around. One bucket of Heinekens for $30 or 32 nett. Not as crowded as places like Ti Amo or Liquid Kitchen.

i see. is the place cold? i have a little phobia with cold places. i like the O bar at upper serangoon rd. they have cheap beers there. are u going ming's pub tonite?
    •
      CommentAuthorcontrarian (CommentTimeMar 29th 2008)

No, there are 3 matches on and I don't know which one they're showing. Don't want to risk watching what I don't want. It's not cold until there's condensation on the glass, no - should still be comfortable.

No takers for your Meng's Kitchen outing?

Where else is good for watching football? I also found Farm Cafe on Bah Soon Pah Road off Sembawang Road.

north got nothing much? i'd beg to differ. they've the convenience of crossing the causeway to calories/cholestrol haven leh.... meanwhile, here in this island, there's still plenty of gd stuff in the heartlands, that awaits discovery by us...

i was told, chom-pang was touted to have some of the nicest greasy food as well. (am nt too familiar with yishun though)
