Posted By: Blues Almightyhaha i went msia and they tell me drink beer + eat durian = DEATH! because of some heat or something. true?
beer + durian = death?? i dun think so, never tried it though. maybe death by feeling too bloated la.

beer is touted as the angmo version of liangteh. durian is touted to be the heatiest of all fruits. cooling + heatiness combined = neutral... yes? no?

though i've heard liquor/spirits + durian can be a killer...

Incidentally, consuming durian, in any form, with liquor is strictly avoided. It is a long-standing belief that fermenting the fruit in the stomach with alcohol can be lethal.

Actually there are good and bad cholesterol, namely HDL(High-density lipoprotein) and LDL (Low-density lipoprotein) respectively. Thus, even if your total cholesterol count (consisting of 4 components: HDL, LDL, Triglycerides and Lp(a) Cholesterol) is on the high side, it may not necessary mean its bad. A more detailed blood test can be done to analyse further and break down the % for the various components.
**Only got to learn this from a previous free blood test in my coy couple yrs back. :)

See this article for more information: Good and Bad Cholesterol
