Hi guys, lets clarify some misconceptions so that we can all look forward to a healthy lifestyle! I'm interested in food research!

Butter vs Margarine Which is healthier?
Calories/ Cholesterol - Both very high
Saturated Fats - Butter is higher.
Incidence of Heart Diseases - Margarine causes a greater incidence.
Nutritional benefits - Margarine has none while butter has some.
Major Fatty Acids - Butter contains cis while Margarine contains trans. trans fatty acids are incompatible to the body.
Taste - butter tastes better than margarine
Overall - butter is better. but try to stay away from both.
*Margarine is just a molecule away from plastic. Even houseflies shun it!

    Skipping meals to lose weight?
    Consequences
    * Calorie loading - Eating just one large meal tends to overwhelm your body with calories that it does not need at that moment. May result in weight gain.
    * Poor performance. Meal skippers accomplish less work, are physically less steady, and are slower at making decisions. Metabolism slows down to conserve the available energy, resulting in a sluggish, exhausted body.
    * Brain drain. The brain’s exclusive fuel, glucose, is compromised within four to six hours if you have not eaten. That’s because the glucose stored in the liver as glycogen, runs out during this time period.
    * Skipping meals cause stomach walls to be worn down by stomach acids, resulting in stomach ulcers
    * Other health complications that result when organs malfunction due to inadequate nutrients and depletion of body reserves

Therefore, just eat and exercise regularly with discretion to maintain a healthy lifestyle

haha is this considered a food myth:

If you eat your rice clean clean, your spouse will have no pimples next time.

the old saying "chi fan chi mi, shuo hua you li" (eat rice/ grains will have logic in what you speak)
dunno how true, bt i think our men in white haven't been eating their rice for a long long time.

the old hokkien saying: "jia di-di, si hao-si" (eat sweet stuff, give birth to boys)
do much for that, but i've yet to witness 100% accuracy in this amongst married/expecting frens

BA: its up to u to believe....how true, who knows?

not scientifically proven stuff are not necessary rubbish....depends on whether u want to rather believe it than not believe at all....if the elders say its for gd, if its not unreasonable, den jus follow lo...better than incur the wrath of the elders rite? they happy, u happy....they not happy, u cfm not happy.

peace of the ears is v impt ya know

tua XX?? care to be a lil more specific what the XX stands for??

i suppose the old chinese saying, "yi xing bu xing" (eat something to nourish your something)
ie: eat brains to nourish brains, eat meat to nourish muscle/flesh... etc

so i suppose gals who aspire to give anna nicole smith or pamela anderson a race for the $, should be drinking milk via intra-venous...?? while those who wanna give jennifer lopez & beyonce knowles a race for a better rear, need to be downing "qi-li ziang" (aka chicken backside)

actually, i dunno how much is true. bt then again, even if the gals do pump themselves with papaya milkshake... no harm, cos there's lotsa nutrients in it.

while as a guy, i'd be a lil more fearful.... dun think it's wise to be pumping on semen or testicles... sigh, FEARFACTOR singapore style...

i tot papaya milk is to aid in generating milk for breast feeding leh. A course instructor told me it works for his wife when I was chatting with him at a course I attended recently. Said this old wives' tale works at least for his wife and hope the breast feeding can stretch as long as possible so tt can save on milk powder. After all breast milk is good.

i only know once a upon a time, beauticians used sandpaper technic on face... bt now technology improve, they do derma-brassion... for improving complexion. foods that smoothen the skin... i dunno if any have been scientifically/ medically proven.

last i heard, guava & chilli both contain very high vitamin C... which is also touted to be good for complexion

they say consuming tiger p*n*s can aid man with defunct manhood... but i think its just an apologist's logic to taste the feline's prick.

bt for those who believe & subscribe to the concept of eating live monkey brains, i think their intellect really dropped to the level of primates.
