Cheap & Good food! Suggestions, anyone?
Let me start the ball rolling:boogie:
    Hougang Point Kopitiam Food Court
1 Hougang Street 91 (near yio chu kang road)
    Xinghwa Vegetarian Stall

    Beehoon/ Rice with 2 dishes: $2
And the auntie gives a very very large portion of everything. There is a wide range of tasty vegetarian dishes to choose from too!

It'll be great if you have the blue kopitiam card because it confers a 10% discount on all food purchased (means the dish'll now be $1.80)!
  1.
hey i rmb there's a $1 chicken rice somewhere that's not bad! never tried it though. does anyone have the address?
  2.
oh my goodness....a vegetarian stall? Can someone please suggest a cheap and good place with lots of meat?!!
  3.
Chin Huat is opening a new buffet place at Novena. I just drove past it. I hear its going to be pretty cheap and good so much watch out for it!

There's a Don Pie outlet at cross street.

They serve claypot crab bee hoon. The soup tastes remarkably similar to the legendary crabs at Ang Mo Kio.
However, the price is a far cry from AMK (Thank goodness!)

It's about $16 per claypot. I would say enough for one hungry person per claypot.
The crabs are small, but incredibly fresh.

    Bon Appetit!
  7.
Hey, I've eaten there! I think i posted a review on the place a while back. It's pretty good.

    haha ya..agree
mee siam stall at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, Block 453A (if my memory seves me right) that sells great mee siam! $2 per plate! #01-96...
  9.
If I'm not wrong, there is this yong dau fu place at Bedok South market where it actually goes for as cheap as $2 (min order). Nowadays, most yong dau fu stalls charge you min $3!!! And each add on is only 20-25 cents I think (as opposed to others that charge 30 cents each)

I thought it was a real steal when I first saw it!
  10.
fish bee hoon soup at bendemeer blk 29 hawker centre, unit number is #01-14.
It is clear soup type with very smooth and fresh fish slice, bittergourd in the soup. soup is nice and not bitter eat it on weekdays and its normally not opened on weekends. Can give it a try if you like fish soup! v cheap i think $2 plus

i love nasi lemak and bak kut teh!

Bak Kut Teh @ Founder Rou Gu Cha Cafeteria
347 Balestier Road (New Orchid Hotel)
its open from 12 pm to 2pm, 6pm to 2.30am. Closed every Tuesdays i think i asked the uncle once.
oishi nae! there's a lot of meat together with the bone served with Teochew style Bak Kut Teh and also pig rotters. the meat is tasty, chewy, tender, soft, full of flavour! really v shiok. soup not v peppery v gd.
1 bowl of Bak Kut Teh costs $8, $6 for the organ soup, $2 for the sour vegetable and $5-$8 for the pig’s trotters. my fav!
