Tops doesn't mean the best. It's popularity vote. Terribly skewed if you actually go stomp and read the forums, you will understand.

Nonetheless I'm quite keen to try a few. Will try at least 2 this week.
1.
Quite happy that 3 of my favourite hawkers are on the list (Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Prawn Mee, Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice, Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak).

As for the rest, I would probably wanna try out Hill Street Fried Kway Teow & Goody N Jolly but that would mean I have to venture the boring long journey to the East again ~ sigh!

yup! thasevi is so overrated. casuarina, to me, is better than thasevi.
2.
Err...I'm lost. The list is from where?

That would be Faisal & Aziz in Block 24 Sin Ming Road - only open until sunset.
Very good attitude from the staff, very good roti if you like it fluffy, very good chicken curry too. I voted for these guys; to me, the only other one that can match these guys would be the Prata Place at Thong Soon Ave.

The list is from Stomp. They had one round of nominations first, then voting. Poor participation led to skewed results. Try the stalls for yourself and see.

Tried this stall at Chinatown before also. Not too bad - but wanna gauge it against the one from Bedok. Everyone seems to rave about it as the best in Singapore - Looking forward to it!
5.
I don't trust STOMP nor the papers much for food. Realised it's usually more abt $ & contacts, rather than the food.

But hey...my favourite Indian Rojak Stall is there, but their Mee Goreng is nothing great - just average only.

Chey Sua was always more popular than she could cope with. Even when her dad was cooking too.

Posted By: cloudgalActually out of the list, I only dun understand the first one.
Prata at Jln Kayu is still fantastic meh?
there was a time when i used to do my carbo refill there after my night cycling trips some yrs ago. that was the time when they became mechanized, leaving the dough kneading chores to machines. and my last visit there made me decide that it was my LAST visit.

the prata was unevenly done, 1 bite and u realized u're chewing on floor.

i think 1 of the best hawkers haven that i've ever been to is KALLANG AIRPORT MKT. they've got almost everything that tempt your taste buds to the extent that u'd be pretty willing to empty your wallets n splurge on all that u can stomach.

hokkien mee, char kway teow, wanton mee, western food, ice desserts, macau egg tarts etc. its 1 of the contributing reasons to my extended waistline, despite serving 2.5yrs of living hell in guillemard camp. no joke, the variety of good food there is so good that our duty personnels during wkends boycott cookhouse food n theyd dabao food there.

wkend duties helped me discover my luv for food tasting..... hehehe
