Why go for an ordinary chocolate fudge or strawberry cheesecake when you can have cakes in the form of favourite superheroes, beloved handbags, or even majestic dragons? Here’s six of the top bakeries where you can order an entirely customisable cake.

CAKE AVENUE | They started as an online company importing cakes but soon realised that the local market for novel cakes had a short and inconsistent supply. Hence they took things into their own hands and started making bespoke cakes. What they lack in cake flavours – their signature chocolate fudge is the standard for customised cakes – they make up in quality ingredients like Belgian dark chocolate and locally-sourced butter, and a dedicated focus on design. Prices of cakes are dependent on the complexity of design and size, starting from $52.50 for a minimum order of 0.5kg. Cakes need a minimum of one to two weeks advance order.

When not battling with HTML, she can be found furiously stirring a pot of curry in her tiny kitchen, shopping online or looking for the next ‘hot new restaurant’. She also runs a fashion label that makes the occasional appearance at trunk shows. Priyanka would like to have her own blog/website someday but every time she clicks opens a browser, something is on sale at an online store somewhere.
