Krispy Kreme opens the doors of its first outlet in Singapore on Saturday, 12 October, at 9am. We received a preview of ten flavours that will be available on opening day. The doughnuts are going at $2.60 each for the Original Glazed (dozen for $23.40; 24 for $42) and $2.95 each for the assorted flavours (a dozen for $26.50; 24 for $47.70). Though there are no local flavours available, we have marked out our favourites. Get prepped to stand in line and ready your tissues – this sugar-fest will have you drooling. Tip: Although the queues are still long, if your order is simple (a box of dozen original glazed or a box of dozen assorted doughnuts the staff pick for you) you may be allowed to skip ahead of the crowds.

ORIGINAL GLAZED ($2.60 each) | This was the doughnut that earned Krispy Kreme its reputation and following. Made from a recipe from the 1930s, it tastes best had when hot off the Krispy Kreme machine line. if you can't, make sure to have it on the day it was made – this is when the glaze is still soft but sturdy, not sticky, and the dough, light. We couldn't get enough of the 20 dozens we received, and polished each of these off in less than 15 seconds.
Celine Asril is guilty of taking pictures before tucking in to all her meals; it’s a (good) hazard of the job – this editor of HungryGoWhere never sits down to two of the same meals in a week.
