Simply the best Chinese restaurant in KL!

This restaurant definitely brings back childhood memories, its my parents' fav restaurant and now its my fav Chinese restaurant to go when I crave for KL cooking and seafood delights! I am sure this restaurant will be passed down to many generations to come!

I heard even the Singapore Ferrari club would drive up to KL on the weekends to eat at this restaurant and drive back in the afternoon!

Must Tries: Char Siew Pork (honey glazied), Praying Mantis prawns (steam or honey glaized), Suckling pig

One Stop in KL not to be missed!!

My family goes to this Restaurant every time we touch down KL. It is always filled with people and we have to take a steep flight of stairs up to the 2nd floor. Their signature dish- carmelised fresh water prawn is enormous! Its full of flavour and the roe melts in your mouth. The char siew (roasted pork) is very different from the cantonese version, it's honey glazed to perfection.

Make your reservations and order early so as not to be dissappointed that the food is sold-out.

BEST chinese restaurant in KL

the place was packed with throngs of ppl when i went there. had high expectations of the place the moment i sat down since it was so popular. and the food truly didnt disappoint. the pork belly casserole was v unique. yes it was fatty, but it didnt put me off because the fats dissolved instantaneously in your mouth and the sauces very v fragrant and made the whole dish delicious! the pork was firm and tangy but flavourful! the after-taste was perfect as well. could taste a little sweetness, spice, herbs and the fragrance of pork stays in ur mouth...superb..salivating as im typing all these. the hot and sour pig trotters was shiok as well!

the restaurant however looks rather old-fashioned and the round tables are packed rather closely in the dining room. there isnt much decor to speak of.

i appreciated that the waitresses introduced/ describe special dishes which were not on the regular menu well unlike those in other chinese restaurants. n these dishes were v delicious! v reasonable price too.

Plenty of great finds

Whenever I'm in KL I will surely find myself at Oversea Chinese Restaurant - and even if it involves cajoling others to go I'll do it.

The must tries are the steamed pating fish, black sauce prawns (a mix of dark soy sauce and assam - fantastic) and the char siu - yes you heard me right. I've got their number saved in my handphone and will always call to reserve a plate of their fantastic char siu because it often runs out by 7+.

You'll find many Singaporeans there (even saw Fiona Xie there once) - helped by word of mouth recommendations and the place is easy to locate (just opposite the cluster of Imbi ba ku teh stores). Prices are reasonable, food is very good. A must try.
