| Grilled Beef & Chicken
Last Tuesday, my friend was craving for pasta so we headed over to the first restaurant we came across plus the waiting staff was very friendly. The restaurant was quite empty but I suppose it's a weekday night and even the whole shopping centre wasn't that packed. The gave a round booth seating which was very secluded despite the openess of the restaurant. Maybe due to the design of the booth and the high walls. You barely notice the other shoppers walking down and up the alley.
The restaurants has different offers for different days. Tuesday's offer was $2 off any main course grilled items which comes with pasta and salad on the side. Plus, an additional $3.90 would include soup and dessert.
Mushroom Soup with a piece of Garlic Bread - The soup was good especially the garlic bread! The mushrooms were chopped or diced in small pieces so we get lilttle bits of mushroom with every spoonful. Somehow, it didn't feel very 'muak'(sick of it) unlike Soupspoon's Velvety Mushroom Soup. Come to think of it, maybe the serving was too little to make it 'muak'. The garlice bread came in a very pathetic size. But it was really good with the right amount of butter and garlic. Oh, the bread was not sprinkled with oregano leaves but it was still good. The only complain I have is that the serving was too little! But hey, I'm only paying $3.90 for the additional soup and dessert. So, no complains but I wish they'll give more!
Grilled something Chicken Chop with a side of Pasta and Salad - The chicken chop came out kinda oily. Well, even the pasta came out a lilttle too oily for my liking. The pasta was cooked very simply with olive oil and some herbs. Came out too oily and bland. The dish had 3 sauces, tomato base sauce, black pepper sauce and a buttery oily sauce. All of the sauces were rather ordinary and nothing to rave about. It's about the same sauce that you can get from a bottle. The serving size for the main course was average. The salad was fine but i didn't quite favour the dressing. It was just a little to sour for my liking.
Dessert (A Scoop of Gelato Ice Cream) - We were kinda hoping to get a cake for dessert but we got an ice-cream instead which wasn't bad since we were quite full. They gave us their Mango Gelato ice cream which was quite average as well. Had pieces of frozen mango here and there.
Serving - Since the place was fairly quiet with not much customers, the waiters were very attentive to our needs. Clearing out plates as soon as we're done and hurried up with our next course. We were very happy with their service but i guess this is just plain bias-ness as the place was empty with only 3 other occupied tables besides us.
Overall, food was average. Spend about $15 per pax including taxes. Might not come here anytime soon as I've set my eyes on Fish next, which is the restaurant beside Hot Tomato (& was more occupied).
