| Good food, and the service ain't too bad
Went there twice... and the food is still good the 2nd time round... My friends and I made the effort to order something different from the previous time we were there, just to see whether they were a one-trick pony... and we were still impressed... From the corn soup to the borsche soup... from the various beef dishes we ordered to the chicken... every dish was tasty...
Although quite a few reviews rubbish-ed the service, i personally found it quite alright... sure, they don't have the polished tone to their service, but they were personable... It was a really good dinner without the snooty ambiance of expensive restaurants... And one waitress actually said "welcome" whenever I thanked her, be it when she was refilling my water, clearing my plate, or serving my dish... Very, very few service staff I encounter at established eateries actually do that...
The service staff comprised "uncles" and "aunties", but don't underestimate them... One took our orders (for 6 people) of various soups, main courses, and desserts without writing a single order down... No doubt she collected the bill from another table in between our orders, but she got each of our orders correct... Another waitress took the initiative to ask me if I wanted chilli sauce or ketchup...
Although we were the last table left and they were closing, they didn't present the bill to us in the middle of our meal just because they had to close their payment for the day (unlike a certain coffee establishment at Raffles City, who did that when it was 30mins before their closing time)... and when we left, the "uncle" opened the door for us, gave friendly goodbyes to us....
Overall, I enjoyed the dining experience there once again...
