Went there 2-3 times for dinner and once for lunch.
On the whole, the food is quite enjoyable. Though there are no specific dishes that particularly outstanding but the overall quality is very good given the price. The prices are comparable to chains like Sushi Tei and Sakae Sushi, but the food tastes way better and the servings more generous.
If you are looking for a place to hang out with friends and have a good meal on a Saturday night, this would be a great place to be! |

| not too bad...
Had the black pork shabu shabu. Nothing really to rave about. Service was very prompt as the staff were attentive.
Quite good for small gatherings, as there are partitions between the tables.
If I do go there again, will stick to the regular pork platter, half the price and probably just as good :) |

| pleasant... but more?
Went to Cicada for a business lunch. Service was relatively prompt and attentive. Our glasses were always re-filled.
Food-wise, no unique selling point really. It seems like most bistros serving a mix of sandwiches, pastas, eggs (for brunch), soups etc. Had a pasta and a side of veggies. Wish I could try the dessert!
When I wanted to leave, I got the service staff to call me a cab. As I sat on the patio to wait for the cab, the waiter actually brought me a glass of iced water. As it started drizzling when the cab arrived, the waiter also sheltered me to the cab. That, I thought was service :)
Overall, an ideal cozy chill out place! |

| Buffet... maybe not?
Quite a fan of the Curry Favor at Stamford House, good place for lunch. Decided to try the food at the newer outlet at Novena. When we arrived, we saw the buffet and decided to give it a shot at sampling the various items available in the menu.
Don't try the buffet!
I think the restaurant is seriously short-handed and not able to cope with the demands of an ala-carte buffet. For my first round of orders, my udon never arrived. The first dish appeared on the table way too long after the orders were placed (can't really remember, but at least 20 minutes or more). It was so frustrating waiting for the food.
We arrived at 7.15-7.30p.m and didn't leave till close to 9p.m as the food took way too long. When we paid the bill, we were given a $5 voucher for use at the next meal... but I'm not too sure when that would be. |
