6 Greenwood Avenue, Hillcrest Park, Singapore
One of the best Italians in town

I went to Peperoni (never mind the spelling mistake in that name, Italians may shudder though) with high expectations based on the reviews I had read and was not disappointed. We were a group of 7 celebrating my wife's birthday and decided to share some pizza's as starters and then have pastas as main dishes.
The place is located in a quiet neighbourhood just off Dunearn Road. Parking is indeed an issue as many people have commented but my view would be: what's wrong with a taxi, especially as you can then drink during dinner. Time for Singaporeans to lose that obsession with their cars. But I am digressing.
The pizza's are certainly amongst the best I have had in Singapore. The crust alone is worth visiting for. Crispy thin, slight hint of wood smoke and deliciously tasty. The Large Pizza is a good size if you order it as a main course and at $22 is reasonably priced for what you get. Generous toppings and did I mention that crust already? Unfortunately the Pancetta was sold out so we went for Marinara, Prosciutto/Rucola (always a favorite) and Salsiccia (basically a salami pizza). All delicious and no crumbs were left on the plates. The pastas were as amazing: the squid ink pasta has to be the best of the evening, though the carbonara was luscious and rich and my vongole was cooked to perfection as well. There was only one disappointment which was the gnocchi one of us ordered. It looked like baby food and even though the taste was not bad it did not really fit with the rest of the dishes on offer.
Desserts topped off an almost perfect dining experience: pannacotta was light and smooth, with a beautiful fruit sauce drizzled over it, my wife gobbled up the tiramisu in minutes and a friend had an amazing sorbet which tasted like fruit just from the trees.
If you like Belgian beers you will be very happy as the menu has 2 pages full of the most obscure (and potent!) versions. Wine is also reasonably priced, we had a very good Sancerre for $55 per bottle.
This restaurant will certainly become one of my favorites from now on for simple informal evenings in a nice neighborhood, away from all the posers in overpriced haunts (read Da Paolo).
