no review yet?! what a shame!

I cant believe no one's wrote a review for this joint yet. Therefore I shall.

Now to begin with, I have never been to this restaurant itself (yes funny that im reviewing it right. so read on to find out why!)

I tried their yummy biryani however, as my ex colleague had once da paoed large quantities of their chicken and mutton biryani as a treat for the whole office.

Seriously, this is some yummy biryani. The rice is flavourful, not oily, and liberally littered with spices proving that the chef certainly did not stinge on the ingredients. The chicken and mutton curries were nicely done, with a nice balance of sweet, salty and spicy.

Overall i think this is a great place to get your party supply of biryani. Im assuming that the prices are affordable since my colleague could afford to treat the whole office!

As a yardstick of some sort, i'd rate this biryani as 2 points lower than jalan kayu and alaruddin's. But waaay better than the average biryani stall. Trust me. heh.

Must Tries: Biryani of course!

dear stella. Actually, to begin with, lets talk about basic restaurant standards. It's not like I expect my wait staff to flirt with me or anything, but very basic standards entails having the wait staff serve you with at least a polite smile. not a scowl on their pretty faces. Following that, let me point out that a price of $9.90 for 10 half wings, does not, at any point of time, mean that the standard of food it is held to is unreasonably high. However, it should still offer somewhat an edible standard of taste. To be honest i get better one buck a full piece (ie same price) bbq/deepfried chicken wings at the average hawker centre. Anw, i do concur the wings i had were lukewarm and crispy. However, they were also tough, pallid tasting, not to mention the travesty of a sauce, which though described as hot, barely packed enough flavour. IMO plain ketchup would have been even more impressive than the sauce they used. Thus, i do not, after re-reading my review from your perspective, feel that i have indeed gone overboard. You are entitled your opinion and i am entitled mine. Perhaps the way they do the wings appeals to you, and you have enjoyed yourself previously in the times you've been there, that is purely subjective. However, having eaten at many establishments and having a keen interest in dining, what i experienced that night was a clear message that this place is not worth the hype, and definitely deserving of me getting down to writing a scathing review. At the end of the day, the main purpose of a review, is to share one's experience at a restaurant, whether good or bad, so that other foodies out there know what they're possibly getting into. A restaurant survives because of their customers, and as a paying customer, I certainly do not owe them the favour of condoning a bad experience. So why dont you go ahead and write a review for the times you've enjoyed yourself there, so that other foodies have both sides of the story before they decide to venture into the said establishment.
