I can't argue with other people as the fact is, we all have different expectations. This Cugini Restaurant is the same Cugini Restaurant located at Robertson Quay previously. I was very surprised that I managed to discover it by luck as I was walking around Club Street scouting for food. I can still remember how tasty the food was when i first dine in the restaurant on Valentines Day in 2008. It is also at this restaurant where I tasted one of the best tasting Tiramisu in my entire life.

One thing for sure is that the customer service really needs a lot of improvement. Previously it was horrible as i have to wait almost an hour for my food to arrive. However, i can say for sure it turned out to be rather good for me that night. I was served a basket of italian bread to keep my stomach busy while waiting for my main dish, a good idea to keep the customers from getting angry.

The sight of this restaurant definitely brings back alot of memories when I was in Italy last year. The decorations really gives a strong italian feel and seems to point to well known Murano and the beautiful houses.

The food still taste fantastic in my opinion. Compare that with pasta mania, you really get premium quality for the price you pay. I ordered the Garlic Pizza Bread, Seafood Risotto with Mushrooms, Penne Aribiatta and Tiramisu. All dishes turn out to be incredibly tasty.

The Garlic Pizza Bread was crispy but oily. Tasted like roti prata. Nevertheless, it is still a fine dish. The risotto doesn't look good and actually looked like a pile of baby puke. But guess what? The taste was heavenly. The sauce is so smooth and creamy where cheese can be tasted. Add to that, the strong taste of seafood is present in the sauce and aroma. The penne aribiatta is very good as well. Bacon taste is so strong with smooth tomato sauce. Simply superb. The Tiramisu.... Ever tasty and unforgettable. However, the portion seems to have shrunk from the large boat size i tasted previously on valentines.

Do take note that this restaurant offer premium dishes and can be pricey when you compare to restaurants offering lower grade pastas. However, the ambience and food compensates for everything.

Must tries: Seafood Risotto with Mushroom, Penne Aribiatta, Tiramisu

    1. Paperdreams Indeed the service needs tremendous improvements. However I was a little disappointed at the pasta quality too... but I would agree that the tiramisu was awesome!
