Dim Sum in trolleys

The first time I went to this resturant, I was quite surprised to see that the dim sum was served in typical hong kong style. The waitresses were pushing trolleys around and asking each table if they want a particular dish from the trolley. Usually at the places which I eat dim sum, they just give us a form with carbon copies at the back and you choose the items you want on the form.

Anyway, talking about the food, the "zhu jiao chu" (aka pig trotters in vinegar?) was abit too sour. The siumai was not bad but too oily. You can actually see the patches of yellowish oil on your plate. The porridge comes in different sizes for different flavours. We ordered chicken porridge and "tian ji" porridge and the chicken porridge came in a small bowl while the "tian ji" porridge came in a much bigger portion. The "chee cheong fan" with prawns or charsiew inside is freshly made and taste not bad. But if you were to order the carrot cake, the waitress will cook it right from her trolley! Quite interestingly, they actually serve salad prawn and yam ring during the dim sum hour too! Dessert wise, nothing really special.

However, it is quite difficult to track how much you have to pay. I find that it is quite messy as everytime the waitress brings a dish to your table, she will make a mark on your card. The card has categories of the prices and they will scribble on the card. Even after payment and looking at the receipt, you won't be very sure whether you have actually ate that much of food. But recently I went there again and was quite surprised that they gave us a form to order the food. I thought that they have changed their system but later on when other patrons came in, they used back the card. Hmm..

I also recommend this place for

But i just went to for the buffet dinner last weekend. But i found that the standard of the food is not as nice as it previously was and the standard of service there is not very good.

on Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant (UOB Plaza): Great view and pleasant ambience
I heard they have to spend 2 years training to do that! - Don't know whether real or not...but thats what I heard! But yes....quite an entertaining sight to behold. Must get them to do it more often since you are already paying when you're there!
