| Great restaurant, but pricey
Having said it's pricey, I have to admit that it's actually okay considering its location. However, if you compare it to similar japanese restaurant in the market, it's slightly higher than them.
Having compared Hajime to other similar restaurants, I have to think that there are not many similar ones as Hajime is a bungalo turned restaurant, so in terms of the ambience, it's really special. You can feel the amount of effort and heart they've put into the place by just looking from the outside, simply superb. On the inside, you'll see wooden floor, tatame, waitresses dressed in japanese...If it's not for the english magazines they arranged aside for our viewing, you could easily think you're in Japan.
We flipped through the menu and felt like eating everything. So, at the correct timing, the waitress came and gave us assistant in understanding the menu and suggested some food according to our taste. Again, little things like these that distint them from others.
The reccomended food are actually quite good. Scallop grilled with cheese, soft shell crab maki, and the promotion of RM2 california roll are done to almost perfection, no complaints about them. Hoever, the sushi set is disappointingly average for the lack of taste...and the pan cake was quite bad for being dry and we can't even taste the salmon.
If the pricing is slightly lower, I could have eat there everyday, just to try out all the menu. |
