| Steaks and Seafood in an IT Mall
Aunt and I wanted more steak after the ribeyes at New York New York and since we had a 1-for-1 Main Course voucher, we decided to try Surf 'n Turf at Funan.
When we arrived at the restaurant, it was very empty, with only two tables occupied at 1 pm. But we already took the trip here, so we just decided to give it a go.
We both had a lime juice each, I had a Cream of Mushroom Soup, Aunt had the Clam Chowder. We ordered a New York Tenderloin, mine with Mushroom Sauce and my Aunt's steak with Black Pepper.
Soups:
The Cream of Mushroom didn't taste or look like it was from a campbell's can, and was pretty good. But I just had a Mushroom Cappuccino from New York New York the previous day, which I liked better. Aunt's Clam Chowder was pretty ok, with quite a bit of ingredients.
Steak: ($29.50 each)
Our steak came with a fair amount of veggies and a choice of potato side. We both chose to have a baked potato. My steak came medium rare as ordered, though not as juicy as New York New York's Ribeye, but it was very tender. (Thus the cut's name, tenderloin! ;) Thankfully, I asked for the mushroom sauce on the side because it tasted like an overly salted and watery canned mushroom soup. There was a generous amount of sliced button mushrooms in the sauce though. Aunt loved the black pepper sauce.
Total bill was $53 after the discount, which was very value-for-money thanks to the voucher. The staff also didn't mind us idling in our seats after everyone else left. Will I return? Well, maybe if I was shopping in Funan I guess.

BEEBEE MEE MEE on 1A Crispy Puffs (AMK Hub): Crispy Skin and Lava-like Curry! HAd tried the savoury ones more often
Then the spicy bbq chicken ones, is $1.60 a little too pricey
But its ok in that its not too oily and its pastriel taste, not like the normal malay home made fried ones
or the deep fried ones at AMK tip top , where its more insides with chicken, some egg, with curry paste,
each has it uniqueness
But i still vote for more value for money for the TIP TOP which has raised to 1.10 at AMK area centrai $ thence...price raise should be around late 2008 or is it early part of the 2008 recession/inflation in Spore is it???heheheh
eXinYan on Tetsu Japanese Restaurant: Kushiyaki and Tempura Sets I think it's worth a visit if you're a fan of fried food, especially if you haven't tried kushiage before. But personally I feel that it's not the best tonkatsu/tempura in Singapore. ;)
