Good food, good service, worth paying for

My Husband & I spent our 4th yr anniversary here. Knowing that space is limited and the place is HOT, i made my reservations 2mths in advance even tho' 1mth is usually enough

Understand that due to the space limitations (do not think they have plans for expansion even though it is doing very well, so as to avoid being too commercialized perhaps? Then again, being exclusive retains its heritage)

Service is good and they have a wide selection of wines.

Too bad we are unable to stomach the pizza, hope to try that next time.

Pork belly is very fatty and portion not so filling

Must Tries: Tiramisu (authentic Italian style), veal, profitoroles, giant anchiovies

Always will come back

I chanced upon this place with my bf. Yes, we enjoy exploring new places to eat!

Unusual concept. Book cafe, yes, but it is a COOKbook cafe. Small although is small, is cosy & toilet is cleverly hidden behind a sliding door that resembles a cupboard.

The teas are great and I even bought a box of Lemon Peppermint Tea - comes in a silken tea bag so you don't get frays in your tea.

Food is good & the dessert - something brownie with liquid hot flowing choc is yummy

I have returned to this place a few times, with different friends & they are happy with the food.

Nice ambience

Chose this place to bring my Japanese colleague for a nice dinner

Very impressed with location although some of us felt that we have lost our way or are we even on the right track. Nevertheless hard to find = exclusive right?

The ambience was great, romantic, quiet, elegant. I think it makes a good venue for ROM, even with the alfresco areas

Food was GREAT even down to desserts and the service staff were great and knew their menus well.

I would recommend this place if you are thinking of impressing your date.

Definitely Yummy!

My bf & I chanced upon this place & at first, were a lil skeptical, because

1) There were no customers
2) Skeptical of food quality
3) Spotted very young staff - not sure if they can cook well or even offer good service

But we went ahead anyway & it was worth it. What was memorable was they being a FISH food establisment, they were true to their product promise & offered MANY & truly MANY varieties of fish dishes & they were very creative indeed.

I spotted the chef & He is very YOung, so I was all the more impressed. Wait staff were prompt & young & polite

I couldn't remember what we ordered but from food to beverage to desserts, was certainly yummy

Way Below Expectations

For a new restaurant that seemed to be much talked about, this place is certainly below expectations. There aren't many restuarants with brewiers in Singapore and my initial expectation that it should be as good as, if not better than BRewerkz in terms of ambience, food, beverage & service.

We booked this place for a department's dinner gathering for 10pax.

Ambience: Initially what greeted us was this grand looking white building where you can see sturdy breweries which looked pretty impressive. I was a little disappointed that it was totally alfresco, even tho you can sit indoors or outdoors, it wasn't airconditioned both ways. For a warm season starting April, it's pretty frustrating to be sitting under even a strong ceiling fan

Food: Menu looks good and we ordered. I ordered Crab burger with cost $18 and it is not flavourful and the fries was simply unsalted and were tasteless. I just couldn't finished it. Reviews from my colleagues were either "below expectations" or "so so". We ordered cocktails & mocktails and they looked so "sad" being served in simple glasses with just a simple straw. The least they could do to charge you $14 per glass is to serve it in a nice glass. My shirley temple was mostly Sprite.

Service: I must say there weren't many customers, just two big grps and the wait staff even got our orders wrong - ALL THE TIME! & kept having to serve the wrong food, repeat our orders and we couldn't even get their attention for simple requests like chilli sauce. The staff aren't rude or anything, just lacking experience & attentiveness. I think it's also because we couldn't hear them (repeat alfresco environment).

Bill: The bill came up to close to $500 which I felt that totally not worth. Going to a chinese restaurant with good fish & lobster would only set 10pax back by not much than $400.

I wouldn't come back here for food because I feel ripped off but I may consider just coming back for a beer, prob becos that's the only thing they might be good at.
