Lovely Italian Food at Al Borgo

Went there for dinner on a Mon evening after reading a review about it in a local magazine. The staff were nice and friendly and greeted us even before we went into the restaurant. The ambience was nice and cozy, especially for celebrating special occasions or just a get-together with friends. We ordered the portobello mushrooms as appetizer to share and it was really yummy. For main course, we ordered pork chops and risotto with seafood. The risotto was excellent, with small clams and a prawn, though I felt they could have been more generous with the prawns. The pork chops were sliced up nicely for us as we said we were sharing the dish. The pork chops were also excellent though it was a little dry, it came with grilled potato slices which blended well with the meat and the salad veg that came with it. We ordered the housepour red wine to try, and it was good too, with a fruity taste and went well with the meat. Service staff were attentive, constantly refilling our glasses and asked if we were happy with the food served. We tried the tiramisu for dessert and it was very nice too, with just a light touch of rum. We will definitely return to this place for great italian food again.

Must Tries: Tiramisu, pork chops, portobello mushroom, Risotto with seafood

Garrie Lim
on Himawari Japanese Restaurant (Alexandra Road): Poor quality of food
i go there for dinner and everythng is quite different. there is much less people and the service staff is extremely friendly. the sashimi was fresh, the shabu sabu was good. service was prompt. I am already planning my 3rd trip there... Maybe you should give it a shot at dinner time on a weekday? you might see a difference. :)
