| Quivering custards!
Apologies to previous reviewer but her phrase was so apt, I used it for my title. The custard was eggy and light and fragrant and quivering and not too sweet. Superb. Just HK$5 each. The shop is plastered with pictures of former HK governor Chris Patten patronising the stall, and declaring it as having the best egg tarts in HK. Not unfounded, I think.
Also good were their butterfly biscuits, we get these flaky pastry things in Singapore too, but Tai Cheong's is more buttery than normal, and also bakes such that the sugar coating sort of caramelises. Mmm.
One interesting pastry is their pei-dan (century egg) pastry. Sounds weird, but works.
If you're shopping around Central, it's worth your while to stop by.

Kooki on Tai Cheong Bakery: Quivering custards! Hey, have you tried 蛋撻王 at Pottinger Street which is just round the corner? You can choose your prefered crust. I find Tai Cheong's crust is a lil salty for my tasted but you are spot on abt the pei dan soo. It's gd :)
P Aidy on Globetrotters Restaurant: Good for kids Indeed, my little gal enjoyed the place. : )
