Review Date: 02 Dec 2008
62-B Jalan Eunos, Singapore
The Famous Prawn Noodle (Hokkien Mee)

This is the place to go for the famous Hokkien Mee. If you pass by the Eunos Road, you can see Kim's famous giant size photograph. Kim in white long sleeves shirt cooking his famous Hokkien Mee. Of course nowadays, you won't see the 'Man' doing the cooking and slogging it out in the kitchen.

The must try, of course the Hokkien Mee. Cooked with the prawn stock and pork fat stock, you can feel the flavor with every bite of the noodles. Its wet and served on top of dried banana leaf. Mixed it with their Chili and Yumm yumm, now I want to go and have some. (8.9 / 10)

You can also try the Fish Maw soup. It’s thick and solid. Quite good actually. The Oyster Omelette also got kick on the sauce; the same apply to their Kang Kong Belacan. I give it 7 out of 10

The difference between the shop and the Joo Chiat branch is that they keep the food here simple and friendly for the pocket. The Joo Chiat will try to push for the expensive stuff like the crab and prawns.

The service is so so. Ambience, it’s a rundown coffee shop. No aircon and can be hot as hell. To be fair, just come here for the food and don't expect too much of the rest. Good value for money though.

PS. Just illegal park along the lane beside the shop, cause u got no other place to park ha...ha....

Must Tries: Hokkien Mee, Oyster Omelette & Kangkong Belacan

I also recommend this place for
Type of meal:Cheap Eat/Budget, Lunch, Dinner
Atmosphere:Vibrant/Noisy, Alfresco/Outdoor Dining
