Comfy Red Sofa

The cheese macaroni with prawns was wonderful for the first taste. Soft and tasty macaroni with 2 crunchy fresh prawns in rich cheese. But it tasted very jelat after a while because you kinda get sick of all the cream cheese.

Let me share something with u! The secret recipe cakes in KL are so much cheaper than in Singapore! After conversion, a slice of cake in KL would cost only about $2-3 compared to the $5 ones in spore! We had raspberry cheesecake, cheese chocz and carrot cake. the cakes are very fresh probably because the transport time from the headquarters to the outlets are shorter than to the ones in spore. yummy and sinful =)

Had cheese fries too. but the cheese was all sticky and lumped together only at a spot. the rest of the fries (which was the majority) didnt have any cheese.

Must Tries: KL secret recipe cakes!

Swim in the Soccer Field!

Sneaked out of the wedding dinner I was meant to attend at the Westin Hotel to take a long-awaited peak at the swimming pool. And i came across this hidden find. Before i proceed onto the living room, i need to say sth about the swimming pool. Unlike many Singapore Hotels, the swimming pool at Westin KL does not require a pass to get in and the long chairs laid around the pool are laden with cushion. CUSHION u know! What a luxury. Sat there with 2 drunken and sad little boys. It's a great place to have a good little chat with friends. The inviting waters just makes you wanna share with ur friends anything under the sun, only its more comfortable talking in the night.

What's more, you can easily access The Living Room from the swimming pool because they are connected. So you can enjoy ur beer/ wine and food while resting alongside the swimming pool. Lovely service where the pub boys would come out to ask you anything u may wish to have. If you were to say no, they would then leave u alone to enjoy the serenity of the surroundings. Good..no irritating waiters to bug u to buy something.

Not really sure if it is called the living room but basically its a pub in which the bar table occupies more than 80% of the space and soccer fans can sit there and watch soccer on the large screen. SOCCER and BEER and SWIMMING POOL! A great mix of all.

Anyway, just to share some pics i took during the wedding dinner in the ballroom 2nd Floor. The food was rather terrible. Tough chicken, oily cereal prawns, tasteless vegetables, unfresh red grouper but a lovely dessert saved the night. Westin Chocolate Box as a wedding gift. Quite pretty.

Must Tries: Soccer in the pool and sipping wine

Intimidated by Madam Kwan?

Malaysians commented that Madam Kwan's is rather famous for their nasi lemak but too expensive for its food.

Another pic!

Here's a pic!

Passed by and took a picture of the very prominent main banner. This franchise specializes in Taiwan Chinese Food.

Dim wooden ambience inside the restaurant looked rather appealing and rustic but still exuded a modern groove due to the shine of the tables.

It’s our dear renowned Shangri-la

It’s a luxury to be sitting in armchairs around tables and dining in a private and soothing style. The ambience is more like that of a bar for people to have a modern chic but quiet and reflecting meal. Donned in smart clothes, diners are mainly expatriates and indeed seem to be of the refined class.

Evidently, the restaurant features lobsters and I learnt from the well-informed staff that the Lobster Bar ship fresh lobsters in from Australia, Maine, and the South China Sea, including succulent baby lobsters from the Pearl River Delta. The lobster I had was crunchy and oozing with mouth-watering juices. Under the innovative culinary twists of the chefs, many delicious styles of lobsters are served.

The set lunch costs around HK$240-270, but if lobster is not your thing, there is salad, pasta, and other meat dishes. Thursday's special offer is a set wine dinner

It’s high class dining in Shangri-la, what more can I ask for.

Moist Chocolate Chiffon Cake that tasted mildly sweet and gave a v homely HGW feeling. Heard that it was the first chocolate cake that make its mark in Singapore as a great-tasting and long-awaited one. Kudos to Lana. Hope it maintains its good standard for its specialty chocolate cake.

Cheers to Hoongy! :)

lost in wonderland

Feel free to unwind in this dainty bistro tucked in a little homespun village. It is one rare hide-out where u can look up and embrace the warm baby blue sky, without the interference of multitudinous street lamps. This rustic, countryside place makes u eager to step into the alluring bistro.

Be greeted by the spacious exquisite dining area when u first step in. Unlike other restaurants which use the safe brown to create the rustic feel, Turquoise Room used a distinct white, clean and comfortable colonial feeling, which makes the place all the more special. They are real generous in acquiring the land space. There are mainly 4 sub-partitioned areas: the tall/ normal table dining area, the wine/ bar area, the sofa area and the al fresco dining area. It is a bonus if u can sit at the luxurious yet homely sofa and face the lush green trees, spacing out. The subtle flower theme which they incorporated into the wall and ceiling lightings accentuates the elegance of the place. In the evening, the place would be even more romantic as the sunshine gets subdued by the moonlight and the wall lightings become the main feature of the place. Irresistible for your date.

Great choice of music. The colonial yet jazzy music has a strong sense of rhythmic beat by the teaser bass guitar. The soprano saxophone also helped to create a comfy, sexy yet a little rustic environment.

Slipper lobster and cherry tomatoes – Linguine in white wine and slipper lobster broth and topped with pan-fried cherry tomatoes and slipper lobster $26. The wine is not at all concealed by the rich english vinegar taste. The duo powerfully mould the taste of the linguine. The rich aroma of the lobster broth creeps out of every bite of the linguine, concocting a perfect sensual experience. I loved it. Unlike other restaurants, the linguine is tangy and not overcooked. The generous lobster bits are fresh and succulent. The delicious cherry tomatoes adds a tinge of prettiness to the otherwise plain looking pasta. A magnificent dish.

Fudgey Chocolatey Brownie with Vanilla Gelato $6.80 - The warm rich brownie and the vanilla gelato were vying to subdue my tastebuds! A truly amazing and thrilling experience! I was transported to another spiritual realm altogether. The warm chocolatey brownie is a true splendour. Appreciated their efforts to make the brownie piping hot as the fragrant warm cloud which enveloped the walnut bits released perfectly in the mouth, enhancing the bite of brownie. The gelato was not at all buttery and had a very fresh vanilla taste. I’ll be back for u.

The lady boss is very friendly and eager to ask for areas for improvements for the food. But all I have to say is great job! Prompt service in preparing such good food. They are famous for their latte as well. Priced only at $5, it is a definite treat for those who need a good cuppa and wish to chill out.

Great date with BA.

A romantic hidden find

What a wonderful place..Its my second time here and standards are still consistently good.

Soft, jazzy yet lively music playing in the background complements the brown, calm, modern feel of the restaurant. The pink, brown n clean themes exudes a romantic mood and this is the main factor why high school/ junior college couples n students frequently chill-out here. Somewhat quiet, Venezia provides the perfect mood for studying, doing work, and not to forget, tasting high-quality western, italian food and ice cream.

The soft, tangy texture of the seafood marinara spaghetti $7.50 allows u to slurp and digest it with just a few light bites. Effortlessly, a sumptuous mouthful of splendor is ingested. The black pepper tomato sauce drizzling with every twist of spaghetti is spicy yet fragrant and aromatic. Although it was a little too spicy for me, my friend found it appropriate. Appreciated the piping hot dish very much as it plays up the standards of the dish. The generous yet calculated fish bits, mussels and prawns are definitely fresh. Loved the succulent yet chewy prawns. Nothing to gripe about the display. Amazing that such a simple looking pasta was such flavourful and mouth-watering.

The homemade chicken pie was surprising creamy and piping hot inside. the slightly oily crust went well with the chicken, potato and other goodness packed within the big generous pie. At a mere $3.50, it is definitely worth a try.

Try the gelato ice creams for a healthy burst of flavour and oomph! $3.10 for 1 scoop, $5.20 for 3 scoops, $6+ for 3 scoops. Takeaway in tubs and it'll be all value for money and share the goodness with ur family!

Purchase and pay at the counter before they will bring it to u. Just a side point, felt that they should provide cleaner boiled water to drink at the side.

Kudos to a gelato restaurant that prides highly on its other dishes as well. Great consistent standards.

"Feed at Raffles" U R MINE

Rigatoni with cod inspired me to get my Feed at Raffles card once im of age. Thats how good it is! Rigatoni was chewy n satisfying n the cod was v fresh n delicious. Real italian deluxe. 50% off for 2 ppl, so we spent about $33 for 2.

better to reserve seats because the place is always filled. romantic, relaxing place suitable for family dining or a date. v friendly n helpful staff as they were keen to help us change from a bar table to a dining table.

they innovate n change their menu every few months to provide a more refreshing range of food.
