good for business

disclaimer as usual: i know nuts about Jap food please please forgive my mediocre reviews

So..brought out some brokers for lunch. I was craving for steak but they had other ideas. Jap...AGAIN. Bored to death but for the love of your job.....

Posh place and quiet, seems nice to seal the deal.

Brought out a bad PDA phone so pictures are really bad

I didn't do the othering, i had a soba set, someone had 2 katsu curry sets, 1 had a mackerel set and another had ramen i think

we ordered a sashimi plate for 4 to share...everyone had green tea i had a coke

i don't understand why the bill was S$195. Well...

won't look foreign here

it was my first time here and i am not a local. My boss is from hong kong and her boss (my boss boss) is an ang moh...cab fare cost us close to S$20 (goodness)

so good...3 foreigners + 3 locals decided to try some crab dishes. it was recomended to us but of course i was sceptical...i only knew good places like Jumbo or No Signboard or Long Beach...but this place was at a coffee shop...i was thinking could be good (somewhat like how Botak Jones rang in my mind) or could be simply simple so i did not have expectations.

locals said place was just renovated...looks nice for a HDB eatery. We tried 3 crab dishes (chilli, butter and some soupy one) but no more big crabs were available so we settled for next biggest size...whilst the locals claim the standard had some what "dropped" the foreigners thought...ok "lah"

quite a meal for me..we had a few dishes like herbal chicken or fortune chicken and some vegetables, asparagus and "kai lan"

S$250 for 6 seems...reasonable? i really can't judge because it was my first forray into heartlands with big dishes. i think for crab it sounds cheap though

i think the location is too far for me though. pity. i thought food was quite good.

cheap and no frills

Dedicated to bro Cannigia

there's nothing much about this place...but it certainly appeals more to the young if not students because i felt really OLD in there.

Food was simple char siew rice, instant noodles and i got the "mud" drink and a bowl of wantons with soup. Also a small side of carrot cake which is not your usual Singapore style

ordering is done via us matching menu numbers with a control sheet (not a big fan of that considering the numbers in this menu were jumbled)

S$50 for 3 seems cheap and reasonable

Like Marche`

Since there are so many reviews...i'd keep it short and simple.

If you like Marche but always wished for it to be Japanese food, here it is.

Big, Variety, systematic payment, friendly staff

i had teppanyaki, some shaved mango dessert, ramen, crepes and yaki tori

pricing is normal. not a fan of Jap food...so can't judge taste

Cheap and fresh

Dedicated to SC

just touched down and was whisked by friends to watch "The Dark Knight" ... bloody hell almost fell asleep.

so we were driving and some how ended in Serangoon and this place.

coffee shop...no classy stuff here. You squeeze with fellow hungry-ians, you have to queue for your food.

Sign board quite prominent with many articles of their success too.

Variety of sides were interesting, you have the usual suspects and few service staff lined up production style doing the serving. 1 scooped the rice, was gentle to ask if you were dining in or take-away and i think adding rice was popular as she posed that question as well. The second person had 2 roles...get your food order and organise the price...to the last person which collect payments and add the cucumber and chilli.

one thing to note...food is fresh and hot, and varieties are replenished timely...as i saw the chickien wings FIFO style.

rice is fragrant and fresh.

can't complain about price...S$5 or less per order...
