| You just can't forgive the warm beers
We chanced upon this burger place as the date could not make up his mind in the mall. Instead, we were drawn to the hand-in-cheek name of the eatery, which highlights that your food may fail but your name should always be attractive.
He tried ordering some duck burger but was told it was sold out after checking with the kitchen. Made another choice which was also sold out and finally settled on a normal cheeseburger. Funnily, 10 minutes later, another staff came back and told us there was duck available afterall. The kitchen must have found a last leg under the cupboard.
I ordered a plate of onion rings which never arrived. Despite me asking 3 times if the onions were still on its way from Cold Storage. Let's leave this to later.
Note, besides the name, we came into this eatery because we saw BEER being served. Yes, there's Brotzeit and what's not but he wanted proper food (not only americans think that burgers are proper food apparantly) and beer. Our Archipelagos arrived warm.
Now, even if you ain't an alcoholic, you will definitely understand the concept of a warm beer. They should be poured down the sink, not the throats. The staff actually told us that those were the last 2 bottles of beer which could not fit into the fridge initially. Our subtle sarcasm on this lack of foresight and why did they not think about including these after the fridge was cleared, or better still, tell us that the beers were unchilled and if we minded having warm beers. They offered ice after our comment but hey, I don't expect myself to be drinking beer in ice just like the uncles in the coffeeshops on a date right? Nasty stuff.
I finally got pissed waiting for the onion rings and told them to cancel the order as well as the sides of fries which was to accompany the burger but seemingly disappeared. This lady, I'm presuming the supervisor, told me not to worry about the onion rings and it appeared 5 minutes later, dripping with grease and piping hot. And the fries were loaded with salt. Which I could not wash down with my warm beer. Warm beer, damnit.
I appreciate them taking the rings out of the order but will feel better if they communicate better with one another. Most of all, chill those damn beers!

Jude Goh on My Secret Garden: My hiding place Ha Jude,
Why would I write my own restaurant review? I find it offensive on your presumptions. A restaurant deserves good recognition based on 2 important factors. Service and Food. And Ronnie was a great Manager. Don't put his service and the restaurant down because of something you only suspect.
