nice naan

Since this place is just down the road from me, my husband brings home curry and naan from Rangooli occassionally. The naans and breads are reasonably priced and taste very nice, being cooked in a traditional clay oven.

The curries are nice, but tend to be cream-based and heavy. We tend to opt for navratan korma which is a mixed vegetable creamy curry and balance that off with palak paneer, a spinach and Indian cottage cheese dish. The curries tend to be a tad too garlicky, though, so expect dragon breath afterwards.

Their rumali roti, a very wide, thin handkerchief shaped bread is very nice and not widely available in Singapore. This is a special roti that is served at weddings in some parts of India.

Buses 10, 30, 51, 143, 188 and 200 stop right at their door.

Must Tries: Rumali roti, plain naan

on Rangooli: nice naan
I love roomali roti too! It can be found in many of the fine Indian restaurants around.

on Alameer: Yummy, unique dosa
Making a mental note of it as I'm close by.
