The place where Ichibantei is located was used to house one of my favourite Japanese restaurant however the restaurant had changed ownership for a few times and the quality is just not there so I was quite apprehensive when my friend suggested we go there for the dinner.
When I was there saw the menu and I was not wowed by it because its specialty lies in Tonkatsu and those fried stuff and so far no restaurant can beat TONKICHI. Well by the end of my trip there I was actually quite satisfied with my meal.

F&B : I ordered tonkutsu ramen. Tonkatsu with ebi tempura and salmon sushi. The ramen is quite delicious as the soup is made using pork bones I had made a metal note to try the miso n soyu ramen on my next visit. The noodles are definitely good,they r quite chewy and it just complement the soup perfectly. The char siew is too thin for my taste cos I prefer char siew with a bit of fat but well my fwen love the thin char siew. The egg is half boilt but nothing to shout about. The tonkatsu is really the MVP of my dinner is the pork is so juicy n succulent. The most fun part is u nd to grate to sesame seed in a bowl n pour the sauce in, its absolutely fun and bring fragrance to the meat. The salmon sushi is ok, salmon can be fresher.

Ambience. A very cosy and family friendly settings.

Value : Not exactly very cheap but consider the location and the quality I am quite willing to part with my money.

Service : Stuff are quite attentive but they seem understuffed.

Conclusion : An above average joint good for its various Tonkatsu and Ramen. I will return to try theri KUROBATA(black pork) and miso ramen.
