A nice cosy place for all types of occassions

I took my family to Tin Hill over the weekend for dinner to try out this new place after reading the weekend BT. Its a semi-causal restaurant with mezzaine on the second level, the place offered a nice cosy setting with its soft hue colors and background.

We were greeted by the owner of the restaurant, a sweet petite girl, who told us that she had just opened her restaurant a few weeks ago. For starters, we shared a mushroom watercress (S$10.90) which was quite different as it had a hint of asian flavor to it as it had sesame dressing and even taupok added to it. We also had two soups, a beef goulash and the soup of the day - mushroom soup (S$5.90), which complimented the salad. The beef goulash (S$6.50) had a fresh hint of taste without being took thick in the sauce and the mushroom soup was made from fresh mushrooms.

For our mains, my dad had the Bouillabaisse snapper pie (S$27.00) and his first impression was Wow! It was this massive blown up pastry on top of a bowl of seafood broth. I had the Ribeye steak (S$32.00) which was done to perfection, to rather to my liking, medium rare! =P My mom enjoyed her Yorkshire pork chops (S$27.00) done with sauteed apple sauce and a side of mustard mush!

Now to desserts, the sticky date pudding (S$10.90) was a must try! We almost wanted to order a second serving, but had our mouths full of smores (S$10.50)! For food and ambience, I would rate this a 9.8 out of 10.

Must Tries: Mushroom watercress, Mushroom soup, Bouillabaisse Snapper Pie, Sticky date pudding and Smores A'more (dessert)
