Superb!

31st Dec was a day of many celebrations for my family – a wedding, a birthday, end of a wonderful year gone by and the welcoming of another blessed new year ahead. We chanced upon Amici Events & Catering through a friend. Even though the notice was extremely short, Dave Tan, their events account manager took charge of everything, from setting a theme, the menu to final execution without any problems. My fear of having something going awry was unfounded.

Theme was tropical so tall cocktail tables for standing guests were placed around the party area. The team tied garden torches to the trees; together with the oil lamps floating on the pool, the blue fairy lights on the bushes and gazebo and the unusually cool breeze, the ambience was just magical and romantic.

By 6pm according to schedule, the bar was up and going. 2 servers went around with mocktails and lovely canapes. Mood was relaxed and family and friends were soon chatting with one another. The wedding ceremony was performed and by 7.30 pm the buffet spread was ready.

We had :

Canapes
- Smoked Salmon Roll w/Caviar
- Italian Beef Meatballs
- Prawn in Mango Salsa

Starter
- Bruschetta
- Traditional Italian Antipasto
- Buffalo Mozzarella Cheese w/ Tomato & Basil

Salad
- DIY Caesar Salad w/ Golden Crispy Crouton

Mains
- Oven Baked Pacific Dory in Pesto Sauce
- Parmesan Chicken in Lemon Oil
- Grilled Beef in Barolo Sauce
- Sauteed Farm Vegetables w/ Butter & Herbs
- Butter Rice w/ Mixed Nuts & Raisins

Dessert
- Profiterole Fruit Mountain
- Deluxe Fruit Platter

Chocolate Birthday Cake

The youths were absolutely thrilled with the mocktails. The bartender did an excellent job of mixing and presenting them beautifully in tall glasses. The spread was wonderful and everyone was very impressed.

It was a most memorable ocassion and all thanks to Amici for making it possible. Love you guys! Well done! Great job!

Sounds great & lovely. Did it cost a bomb?

on Spizza (Club Street): Mi Amor
Grazie LorettaCaterina@SiennaGiovannaPaola for clearing up on the progenitor of the femme fatales. I shall keep a lookout for leg shaking Juliani emerging from her shisha smoked aura in Arab Street. I could then suggest to her to spawn a boys pizza chain called “spiazzo” (meaning open space) with pizza names like Agosto, Bruno, Carlo, Dino. … And of course a huge wall screening of Italian Serie A matches on one side and on the other continuous streaming of fashiontv. No need to kill the Killiney Road branch then. ;-)

I'm from
under the stars...

I'm a
woman who wears many hats.

The best meal in my life was at
Melissa's in Cape Town. We just finished a 6hr hike up Signal Hill onwards to Lion Head and back to town. Melissa's Sunday brunch offers a wonderful spread of the kind of food we like, gourmet & healthy, paid by the weight. Unforgettable.

I drink only
water mix with any yummy stuff.

I'm allergic to
bad fats.

My last meal would be
plain porridge w/ salted fish, salted eggs and chyepoh omelette.

When I'm not eating I'm
playing with food & cameras.
