| Great milkshakes and ice cream
After reading a couple of reviews and knowing I'd be around the area I stopped by Once Upon A Milk Shake today. After arriving and being told that there was a party and they wouldn't serve us, we were happily surprised to be chased down and told that we could get a fix. +1 for nice service. We tried three ice creams/shakes: agent strawberry, spooky mocha, and chocolate truffle castle. The agent strawberry milkshake was fantastic - lush, creamy, deeply strawberry but without the coying sweetness you find in a lesser ice cream. The spooky mocha I both drank and ate - superbly creamy (with what must be a super high milk fat content), rich coffee taste, great texture on the tongue and a nice aftertaste. A real delicious mocha. The chocolate truffle castle I only got one small bit of but it was a deep rich dark chocolate taste that vanished quite quickly. A great ice cream shop. The atmosphere is very casual and clean. Feels like a friendly ice cream shop in white and purple tones. Any negatives? Two. The obvious one is the lack of an Illy espresso to go with my scoop. A taste of coffee goes really well with ice cream in my opinion. Second, variety of flavors. Currently they have 8 tastes at the ready but it would be nice if they had double that all the time. I've recently visited U.D.D.E.R.S. and if I compare the two would rate the ice cream quality here at Once Upon A Mile Shake superior. U.D.D.E.R.S is good for flavor variety (which is a little gimmicky for me) and they serve a good scoop, but not quite as rich as Once Upon A Milk Shake. Both very good but Once Upon A Milk Shake has an edge in my books today.
Postscript: I've been back a second time and still love the place. I had a wonderful chocolate milkshake this time and enjoyed every rich moment.

I'm from

The best meal in my life was at
Linda's in Butte, Montana. Best steak I've ever had and the ambience was startling. Other favorites too as best meals are so situational. |
| |
I drink only cold beer, single malt scotch, vodka, and non-sweet stuff. |
| |
I'm allergic to supermarket Nato. |
| |
My last meal would be ribs from Texas Smoke House BBQ. |

When I'm not eating I'm
digesting and thinking about the next meal, working, playing, enjoying family and life. |
