I agree with you most of the time which is why you are in my buddy list...but taipan was all misses and no hit for me.....especially the butter squid which was tough and chewy - clearly frozen squid used... =)

i totally agree on this. taste is qualitative and relative. best to trust yourself than others.

Hi Ling, just read your review - you're the first person to have given them a less than two thumbs up rating. I've eaten there several times and have written in HGW about them after a couple of those occassions. I guess the adage that everything's relative is true - one man's meat is another man's poison. But 20 bucks a head isn't exactly pricey for Nyonya food, particularly if you've done your rounds in most of the other such restaurants.
