| The super delicious Ngor Hiong
Zhong Zhong is an institution in Singapore for Ngoh Hiong. And it deserves all the praise it gets.
For one, it is damn cheap. Seriously. I have eaten Ngor Hiong in many places in Singapore and i have never eaten anywhere that is cheaper than this.
Second, it is so damn good! Not only is it the cheapest, it definitely is one of the best. And every pick is so fresh. I love their tau kwa! So tender and soft inside, and yet crispy on the outside. so, so amazingly tender. with their chilli, it is a perfect side dish, anytime anyday.
Their chilli is really special, it is spicy, sweet, just the right consistency, and they have some diced onions on top. it is the perfect sauce. my girlfriend who usually does not like wu xiang sauces, will eat this one.
What's more, you can have delicious porridge, macaroni, bak chor mee, kway chap and duck rice in this coffeeshop. all these food go perfectly well with the wu xiang. especially the macaroni.
I have eaten zhong zhong since i was a a kid and i still love it everytime i go there. I think the atmosphere is a little lost, cos last time it was in the Jackson Kopitiam. Thankfully the food standard is still there.
Anyway, i just ate it today so i will review the cost:
Orange octupus
Tau kwa - you're simply the best! (so good you will sing and shout with joy)
Orange coloured fried rectangular pork/dunno what cake
Fried Fish cake (the flat flat brown brown one)
Century egg (shiok with the chilli)
Deep fried prawn paste cake (the damn crispy one) (also bloody shiok)
Fried breaded sharkmeat (also outstanding)
Fishball
All in all, only $6.80. SO CHEAP!!! and do you know that it is all handmade. OH...so damn good. So 'worth'!
Ever since i brought my girlfriend there, she swears by it and has cravings for it every few weeks. haha.
the best wu xiang in Singapore. Wooh!
