303 Jalan Ampang, Lot 4, Level 3 Great Eastern Mall, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur
Daidomon Go North!

Heard that Daidomon been moving up north and had an outlet in KL since last year, oways drop by KL but was too busy to pay them a visit. Finally, my day has come, a friend of mine who willing to bring me there( cos it is located at Ampang area, heavy jam area after 5pm at weekday. We are talking about 5 mins drive from KLCC if it is not jam and can cost u 45 mins to 1 hour from KLCC if jam...sound scary?)

Anyway,we play smart and safe,i arrive at Great Eastern mall by 5pm,hang around for a while then we go in to the restaurant by 6pm,right after they start their dinner operation.

A BIG WOW come out from my mouth....oh man, daidomon in KL are so so different from Daidomon in SG, the new outlet in KL look so grand, they even has a lobby with sofa set,TV before you enter the main dinning hall.....and the restaurant size is 3-4 times bigger than the 1 they had in SG! ( perhaps properties in KL is not as hot as SG,haha...)

Even after we had been seated, my eyes can't help but keep on looking around......phew....ok ok, let's go back to our topic, food!

The ala carte price are good, mostly about the same as SG 1 after u convert dollar to ringgit....but, they are having their promo fort their buffet! RM68++ only per person, i thought i saw wrongly so i double check again with their buffet menu, wow, the same menu as SG serve, but the price was RM68++?SG buffet at $58++,after convert will be RM137, so this is more like daidomon Grand sale!

we decided to go for the buffet and wanna check out as if the meat quality are the same or not.....and i order a bottle of very nice sake recomment by the staff,a gold metal winning sake from nigata,Call Shirataki Jozen Kinsho.....

The Sake was so nice, very smooth end, just a litle bit of dry and sour when u drink it,but the moment u let it slip through your troat,it was so smooth.....this is the typical character of Nigata.

As usual,i order their Karubi(belly tender),tan(tongue),honetsuki karubi(Rib),Ebi(prawn),Hotate(scallop),Shitake Mushroom, garlic, japs sweet potato, oxtal soup,Yukke(raw beef with egg york) plus this time round, i order their tempura, sushi, sashimi and some starter as well cause i wanna find out are their Kl standard are the same as Sg or not...

hmm......im surprise by the sequence they served the food, very well train staff indeed. They serve me my ajitsu itako, the marinated baby octopus, assorted pickles 1st then the sashimi.then tempura and sushi.

Last they serve my the BBQ item.Yummy man, the meat they had in KL are the same as they had in SG.....standard is there, not easy hur~ KL and SG are seperated by 316KM and they can manage the both place well.

Ah...they use charcoal in KL,instead of gas like the 1 they had in SG.( But it seems like the charcoal bowl is a bit too small, cos most of time the heat from the charcoal was not strong enough to grill my food if i place it at the side of the "net", need to improve on this.)

The service is KL is very attentive, they change my net very ofthen and they never let my sake cup empty,( is it because of i order a bottle of sake with the price tag of RM500? ) : ) haha, anyway, i oways preffer to visit a restaurant on weekday instead of wekkend cos i wanna to be served, and served good. i dun wanna wait too long for my food or else i will lost my head and blowed off.

Conclusion, if don't wanna add in the "a bit expensive" sake, my bill for 2 buffet only cost me less than RM160.....which is equalavent less than 70 dollar sings, where by if i had buffet in Daidomon sg will cost me about 140 sings....haha...so you do the maths and tell me worth it or not.......

Worth trying, for the atmosphere, the Bargain price but high end standard of buffet.....try to be there early,or else u will regret when u stuck in the traffic jam!

Must Tries: Check out the sake list they got,a lots man!

181 Jalan Bukit Bintang, Starhill Gallery, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia Best well Known Buffet??

Went to KL the past few week, always heard my m'sia frens been praised how gd and nice about jogyoya buffet, all right, i decided to give it a shot then... :P

The restaurant is located at bintang walk(where in front of Pavilion),3rd floor.i noticed 1 thing funny when i enter the restaurant, you know how they charge the kids? they measure your kids height.....haha....something new, which mean if your kid is taller then 120cm,although not even enough 12 yrs old,u gotta pay adult price for him.

the ambience of the place was nice, quite spacey, and not too bright, they had some bamboo decoration around and so "empty" aquarium at the entrance there, wonder what they feed in the tank.....

WoW.....WOW......WOW......jogyoya have so many varieties.....so many till i felt lost when i start my food tour there : )....they have sashimi, sushi, maki, handroll, teppanyaki, cook food,"tun tang"( cantonese soup",wok, grill, and i lost count.....it took me 15 mins to finish walk 1 round, then i end up with a coconut in my hand back to my table....funny? cause i don't know what to eat and i found out they supply coconut! ha,my favorite....

after i finish my coconut,i decide to make my move.i went to sashimi 1st, erm....how should i say it,sashimi cutting was not so good and make me not appetite to eat it,( i mean even kaiten sushi like sakae can have a better presentation of sashimi...)so skip the sashimi, took a few sushi and a califonia handroll( you gotta order from the chef, then he will do it for u),ok,sushi rice was too hard, perhaps they are from machine, the salmon and tuna taste not good, handroll seaweed was softgy, and they didn't put avocado in.......

next,i went to teppanyaki, order a beef, chicken, and fish.when they come, the beef was ok,so do the fish and chicken.i mean they are fine, just not outstanding.

then i went to order a grill beef T-bone,ha, this the nicest thing at jogyoya after all, besides than my coconut....although the staff grill the t-bone to a bit over burn, but the beef was still taste juicy and inside is medium well, not well done, dun get fool by the "chau Ta" look from the moment it serve(although medium would be better) i have 8 order of the T-bone grill beef at that night.(14 coconut oso,by myself :P)
and try to go for their stir fried veggie, something like japanese restaurant Yasai Itame, not bad.....i had two portion of that.

then dessert time,so may dessert around, mochi, cheese cake, small tart or pie,ice cream,u name it,u got it,more than 60-80 varieties in dessert it self....shiok? haha....but im not a dessert person,so i only take 1 scoop of the ice cream and some taiwan mochi( can tell is not japs 1),mochi was mochi, which mean ok lar......surprise me is Ice Cream is hagen daz......but,once again,im not a ice cream killer like paris hilton......

fair enough,i pay RM204 for 2 pax,it is buffet,so don't you expect a fine dining standard of food then you wouldn't get disappointed.if you are not choosy on food standard or you are not regular of japs fine dining, then jogyoya worth every single penny u pay for it......

what?for me?i seldom go for buffet anymore, not even those big hotel buffet back in s'pore........

Must Tries: Grill beef T-Bone,stir fried veggie, coconut juice!!

Best BBQ buffet in town!

Always pass by beach road and the restaurant that full with red "tang long" attract my intention.been checking around and know that daidomon have been around since 1982, wow, that was when im still a boy!!

went there on the past monday cause i don't wanna be there by weekend where normally is pack. There are 4 of us and the service staff was in good mood i guess,we get a room!

we had the buffet,we ordered some beef tongue, belly tender, ribs, prawn, scallop, pork, cutter fish, tempura, sashimi as well.

sashimi come 1st,not bad that they know sashimi are suppose to have 1st before you go for other food,so that you dun get other food taste overlap the taste of the fish.salmon sashimi was great, and the butter fish as well, the sea bream and tuna was so so......

then our meat was served, the staff told us to take the tan 1st before the other meat, same theory as the sashimi(as what i was told). The tongue was fabulous man, lucky for us,i bet they give me a better quality of tan instead of the normal buffet standard tongue(cos i am a tongue lover,i can tell what is good tongue and what's not!),the 1st 2 portion tan that we get are pinkly color and this mean it is the inner part of the whole tan where by it taste not hard or chewy.indeed, our tan is so testy and nice,u can eventually flip it and break into half in your mouth! haha....finally i found some nice beef tongue around.

Then we go for the belly tender and the rib.Tell you what, those beef serve here are so different from what you can get out there, even we were having buffet, you still can see the slice of beef they serve come with fat on it,it's not a normal pure red color piece of meat, with the fat,the beef taste so soft and tender.same as the rib as well( just different by the rib got a tiny slice of bone on it :p ), i was told by the staff that the beef goes well with their yakiniku( mean BBQ in japs)sauce, in the matter of fact,it is,it's go well with our pork or seafood either.....but i realized the pork and seafood come along with a curry color sauce, staff told me is miso sauce....erm....u mean bean paste sauce?miso?like a miso soup miso?a bit salty.....

share a secret with your all,the prawn in daidomon was gorgeous!I am 100% sure the prawn they serve is not a frozen prawn, cos the meat are so testy and the sweetness of the prawn is still there.one thing good about their chef is they didn't cut the prawn open before they serve it,or else the sweetness of prawn will have been gone,(apply to mostly seafood, especially with shell)i give a star for that.

surprisingly, the tempura only come in when we are mid way BBQ our meat, tempura was all right, nothing so special......ah.....try their ox tail soup......it was so nice........

we end up our night without having any dessert, although they do serve fruits and ice cream for buffet as well, but hell yeah,my stomach are filling with something more valuable than the ice cream or fruits!! haha.....i am meat eater like T-Rex, Not ice cream killer like Paris Hillton! Give a star for that!!

our bill come as $277.77,they charge additional 1 dollar for tea and towel, fair enough, nothing is free in this world.

Gosh, i will be back!

Must Tries: Beef tongue, belly tender, fresh prawn, pork belly, and the wagyu beef if you go foe ala carte.

22 Jalan P Ramlee, TA One Tower, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur
very well known but ordinarly.

I have been searching around for a good japs food in KL area after the company post me to KL since last year july. Some of the japs guys recomment me Ozeki so i pay them a visit.

Been there on monday nite, around 7pm, business was not bad, quite a lots of customer around, mostly is japs.

Order Tempura Moriawase, Yakiniku Tan(tongue),Kobe tenderloin, some assorted sashimi, salad, and some sushi as well.Drinks wise, i had a kirin beer, my friend had green tea.( not much choices of the sake that i preffer, mostly they got is Ozeki Sake)

Tempura is ok, Salad was good, sushi and sashimi have their standard there, the Yakiniku is come along with a small port fill with charcoal and a small round piece of net on top, grill it yourself mode.Tan is not bad but perhaps the tan cutting is a bit too thick for me, i truely understand that back in japan, tan cutting normally is thick but as a asean people,i preffer not as thick as that cause eventually tan is a bit more tough than normal beef meat, so more thick mean more tough here. The Kobe Tenderloin was ok, but i realised one thing is, the Kobe beef is the those high grade one cause i don't found much fat or marbling on it, taste wise not bad, soft and tender, but i miss the feeling of chewing a slice of beef whereby it is 70% of fat there and 30% of meat only.

Ambience at Ozeki is nice, it is more to moderate japs restaurant instead of traditional japs restaurant, same goes to the menu.music was fine.

Service was good in the 1st place when i sit down, order, bla bla bla......but once the customer start to pile up the place, you don't expect the attentiveness gonna be there.

The conclution, Ozeki is ok, not bad. But not the type of japs food that will attract me be there 3 times a week, i dun mind to pay but you gotta have something extraordinarly to gain place in my mind.( after all, my bill for 2 person cost me RM450)
