I'll be back.. but on a weekday night only

I had dinner at Pietrasanta on 2 occasions, once on a lovely Wednesday evening after we had drinks at Klee (a cocktail bar just atop the restaurant). The 2nd time was Saturday night and it was the longest 3 hours of my life.

As the above reviewers have written, this cosy place specializing in Tuscan food has a good heart - you can tell by the food that is served. The chef knows his food, remembers where he's from and puts those memories into his food.

But the delivery.. aiyo. *smacks head*

I know this because on the weekday night visit, before the press got their hands on this joint, everything was done right. Jennifer was the perfect hostess - efficient, friendly. The adorable looking bread arrived WARM, there were saucers on the table for olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and the salt and pepper grinders were also there! We proceeded to mix our blends of pre-dinner dips, splash of olive oil, touch of salt and pepper and soaked them up with the breads. We ask for a second basket, and those too, arrived warm soon after.

The rest of the Wednesday evening meal went spiffy - our mains arrived together, fresh off the oven. Everything tasted great. The check arrived promptly and our lot left the place happily.

So i recommended the place to my friends, went there on a sat nite and ate for 3 hours. Or rather, we waited for things most of those 3 hours. Drink orders arrived with main courses instead of at the start, the lovely veal tripe arrived cold, the check took a long time to arrive..

My verdict is that I will be back here for the soulful food and to support Jennifer - who tries her very best for her customers. I hope she gets a better staff in place soon! In the mean time, I will return only on a weekday night..

Jennifer - ganbatte! Don't give up :)

agree, went yesterday with my other half aroudn 6:30, wanted a quick dinner cos its near my office, but got turned away because we never made any reservation. Understand their reservation comes in at 8pm. oh well, they could have serve us lah, anyway 2 of us eat real fast that is another potentially $120 dinner, we would have left before 8 anyway, unless their chef is not confident of cherning out dishes fast enough. Oh well.. this wessex estate is all a hype lah.
