A fun twist to egg tarts

I received a box of 6 egg tarts from here. The shell wasn't particularly crisp and the filling wasn't particularly outstanding but I enjoyed them anyway. Why?

Number 1: they were deep-set egg tarts. Why hasn't anyone thought of that before? Deep-set = more filling than normal egg tarts. And who wouldn't want more filling in their egg tarts?

Number 2: they come in so many different flavours! In my box alone there were a normal one, a strawberry one (look! pink egg custard!), a blueberry one, a kiwi one (look! green egg custard!), an apple cinammon one and a chocolate-orange one.

I liked the kiwi and chocolate-orange one the best. Granted, the egg tarts differed from each other only by the filling on top, while the egg custard was the same below--apart from the strawberry and kiwi ones being coloured. Nevertheless... It's really clever that somebody thought of this.

I heard they cost $1.50 each.

Management Response: 16 Apr 2008 Hi,
Each egg tart cost $1.20 and not $1.50. We are reviewing our pricing soon, due mainly to the rising cost of ingredient and our unreluctance to use lower quality ingredient.
Btw, there are topping as well as flavors inside the egg tarts, not just on the top.
Thank you so much for the kind support.

I guess it's a matter of perception. Im sure you (Combat Wombat) had a wonderful time there with good food and all but from the standard of the food I got during my visit, I don't think it was worth the bill at all. Anyway, about the mass production comment-- looking at the waiters with their headphones voicing codes and quantities, and with everyone around me being served the same food at roughly the same time--I couldn't help but have this feeling that I was at a chinese banquet dinner. :p
