Good quality Japanese buffet

I am a big fan of Japanese food but am not as prepared to shell out hundred of $ to enjoy this cuisine at the more renowned restaurants. Raku at Greenwood (and Holland Village although the latter offers 8 less dishes) is therefore a good option if you, like me, are a 'value' hunter.

At $58+ for buffet dinner, you get to dig you teeth into unlimited servings of:
- good quality sashimi (tuna, swordfish, yellowtail, salmon, octopus)
- mouth-watering cod fish done in three ways (miso, teriyaki, and a special sauce)
- special house dishes such as Raku Tofu, Taku Agadashi Tofu
- sushi (both handrolls and conventional sushi_
- tempura
- many more delicious dishes

The ambience is also very nice and if you have a party of more than 6, you can ask for the private dining area.

Service is also on par with most good Japanese restaurants. To me, for a restaurant offering ala carte buffet (they also offer ala carte dishes), it is very important that the waiters do not give diners the impression that there is an 'invisible' cap on the number/types of dishes that one can order. I certainly did not get that impression from the staff here.

Must Tries: Three types of cod fish, Raku Agadashi Tofu, Sashimi platter

I also recommend this place for
Type of meal:Dinner
Occasion:Romance/First Dates, Private Dining
Atmosphere:Quiet/Peaceful

picky gourmet
on Astons Specialties (East Coast): Certainly good value for money!
Porterhouse steak can be magnificent if it is good grade/quality/origin beef. You get the tenderloin and the "sirloin" with a right mix of fat, very flavourful . Char grilled over an open flame, no marinate, salt and pepper only, and a glass of beer. Thats life =)
