| I will be back!
Recently, I went to a few western restaurants like Chalk, District 10, Oso, Restaurant Absinthe,Greenwood Fish Market and Ember. Chalk is one of the tops in the list. I went on a Sunday night with my boyfriend. The restaurant was not too crowded, about 40% full. We shared an appetisier that is very special. It is a mushroom patty, with poached egg, asparagus and brussel sprouts for garnishing. Sorry I cannot remember the exact name but you can easily find it in the menu. I had the seafood pasta and he had the duck ravioli for main course. Both were nice. The seafood pasta came in a generous serving and is value for money($23 nett). His duck ravioli came in a slight creamy sauce and there are other items like cheese toast, japanese fish eggs and a raspberry in the dish. I noticed the chef in Chalk is very creative. They will have additional stuff in the items that blends well the overall dish.
For dessert, we had the warm chocolate cake with ice cream which is a sure winner in most restaurants.
Chalk is a hidden find located in Old School behind Cathay Residences. The best thing is all prices are NETT and that makes it easier for the diner. Service was good as the waitress could explain the dishes clearly to us when we placed our orders. she was also attentive throughout dinner.
I am definitely going to Jio my girlfriends to come for dinner at Chalk so that I can try more dishes.

ALBERT ONG on Baba King Nonya Deli & Restaurant: Not a Fantastic Experience UTTER RUBBISH! Been there 3 times so far and food is beyond reproach - restaurant's a bit tired - but whatd'ya expect at the Expo, man! They must serve a zillion people during events so wear and tear must be proportional.
Peggy Koh on Baba King Nonya Deli & Restaurant: Not a Fantastic Experience Like Randal Tan, I'm surprised you found the food there bland. From my experience, this is one of the better, if not best Nyonya eateries around...food-wise, for sure. Reason I write actually, is to ask which YTF stall sells Ngo Hiang like Baba King's - I'll make a bee line for it right away.
