| Tiny portions, Poor service, Bad place overall
Last Saturday we brought our parents, grandmother, helper and kids to this restaurant because there was a relevant credit card promotion for 15%. There were several sets. We asked a waitress if the promotion applied to one of the more expensive sets we were interested in, since we wanted our family to have a nice meal. She told us - YES.
Well, the portions were horrifically small. The pork dish, for example, was the size of two small ladies' palms and just 0.5cm thick. There was no way it was enough for the 6 persons it was recommended for. The other dishes were similarly teeny-weeny. Considering that of the 6 of us, only 2 were men, the portions were clearly inadequate.
The candle on the cake was when the bill came. The credit card promotion did not apply to this set! We were of course upset. The set cost $180 for 6 people and we ordered it on the basis of the waitress's affirmation. Instead of honouring their word and rectifying their own mistake, the manager stated that if we wanted to pursue it, he will deduct the amount from the waitress concerned. What bad taste! How dare he threaten customers with what he will do with his own staff? If he's such an inhumane, bad, horrible, evil boss, should we be cast the blame?
Being reasonable people, we really didn't want her to suffer for this. Poor thing for working for such a lousy company with such a poor boss. The restaurant offered NOTHING to help the situation. Not even waiver of service charge.
We then went to the food court to have more food, since dinner at Paradise Inn was only enough to qualify for starters. We will never come back here again and will tell all our friends not to come here.
