Ramen with its companions of meat, a rainy day saviour!

Last night was my 2nd visit to this Ramen bar. I should be coming every week but had been too hectic to do so. Bugged my partner to dash down last night to satisfy all my overdue cravings for the past 3 mths! Moreover, i have a $10 voucher that expires by end of the month! It's now or never i told him. Alas, the craving was met but my appetite for this place is insatiable. I'm so gonna come back for more!

It was cold and dark (cos evening time you see) and we braved the heavy downpour and storm, the poor visibility when driving down Fort road. It was treacherous but our deep desire for Ramen at Yoshimaru was far greater than what we "suffered" on the road.

I alighted first and dashed in the cosy little shop to make our orders whilst my partner went to park the car. I was warmly greeted by the serving staff, one of whom came forward to take my umbrella to the stand and i was ushered to a seat that made me feel that "I had finally arrived".

I quickly made all the orders and waited patiently. On such a night, i was glad that there were not many people in the restaurant so there was a higher possibility of getting served at the earliest time possible as i was famished.

Our orders are as follows:
- Moridakusan Ramen (All in)X2 - $15 per bowl
- Crispy Chicken Karaage - $6.80
- Shabu-shabu Beef Salad - $6 or thereabouts

As i waited, my level of anticipation and excitement heightened. My heart was pounding as though I was meeting my idol in person.
In less than 10 minutes, all the dishes were served. We didn't feel bored cos we had to "work hard" at pounding/grinding our sesame seeds for our soup while waiting for the dishes. How considerate and clever the chef is, one effective way to involve his patrons in his cooking process and at the same time, keeping us occupied so that we will gladly await for the good stuff to arrive without complaints.

We tucked into our food - First, i proudly poured my well-pounded sesame paste into the ramen soup bowl, a dash of chilli oil and garlic. Sprinkled all the pepper and squeezed the lemon evenly over the crispy chicken. Then we slurped and gorged like never b4.
The taste of the soup was comforting on this cold and gloomy day. It was addictive as I scooped my soup to its last drop. It was as ifs the pork ribs dispensed of all its essence throughout the contents..smell of the soup permeates my surroundings, i was almost oblivious to my partner's presence.

Noodle: Tangy and chewy. Not soft and overcooked.
Soft-boiled egg: The noodle was enlivened by the perfectly-cooked soft-boiled egg that has a smooth texture, with its yolk dipped with perfect amount of shoyu sauce.
Crispy chicken was warm & crispy of cos - another comfort food with a crisp layer of batter encasing succulent chicken. What more can I ask for? Hmmm, maybe a lower price?
Beef salad - Beef was average, quite tender but salad was sadly lacking in greens. Condiments was light and just enough for the amount of greens given.

Was then told by a fren today that the mini burgers were must-tries...i shall use that as yet another excuse to be back in the near future!

Must Tries: All the ramen, crispy chicken
