Finally, a good Thai restaurant in the West!

Stumbled across this place and my first impression is that this restaurant has a very refreshing concept in that it has a very classy feel but yet, casual enough to have an informal chat with friends. There is this "Zouk like" bar in the middle of the restaurant and high class decor - certainly great for first impressions! - but yet giving a relaxed atmosphere. I do recall a wonderful orchid mural on the wall that gave the place a nice, artistic feel. First thing to come to mind was that this is a great place for dates, esp in the evenings! Since the west does not have many proper dating place, I thought this was a great discovery! Haha!

Now on to the food....given my high expectations when I walked in (thanks to the decor and nice feel to the place), I was not disappointed, I'm glad to say. The first thing I noted is that this is a place that serves refined, classy Thai food through and through, and its great to note that we finally have a good, proper Thai restaurant in the West. Yes, yes, we Westies are deprived of good food in the West!

The Wagyu beef is really, really yummy (around $10). It is served on a skewer and it was so delish that I don't think I can ever stop eating this! The way its marinated has a bit of Thai influence I felt, and it blended very nicely with the superb beef.

The red duck curry was good, and the snapper fish green curry was simply excellent. Can't remember the price of each dish, but I'm both a fish and green curry lover, so this combination is a delight for me.

The deep fried tofu with fresh crab and minced pork also came out well, and you know, I do wish that I have an unlimited budget to just keep eating all the dishes, esp the wagyu beef! Haha! Actually, maybe not, because by the time I was done, I was quite stuffed, and I noted there was a wide selection of wines and some desserts that I could have focused on if I did not zero in so fast on the Thai food.

Overall, wonderful thai food, will be back!

P.S. - There is also a deli where you can buy homemade thai pastes, fresh vegetables and marinated grill items that you can bring home to impress your mother! =)
