Sacrebleu, It is only avareege !

I have heard good comments about this restaurant from many friends. I do not, however, share their levels of excitement.

Very good service from the boss. However, the staff that waited at our table could learn a trick or two to spice up our appetite, instead of downing it with limitations of their kitchen. One example was their grilled beef was "only pan-grilled" owing to the fact that they "do not have a proper (bbq) grill".

I found the menu too short. No exciting dishes to choose from. The soup was good and the beef portion sizable.

A good experience but no haute-french affair.

on Table 66: Casually Wonderful
We went there on mid-December when it first opened. My husband and another couple friend of us really enjoyed the great food / good wine/ amazing dessert and perfect ambience there. It was semi-formal, proper set up (but we all feel easy at the same time). For appetizer, we order Oyster Shots in tomato essence, it was amazingly done. The oyster is rich and very fresh, with the mix of gourmet sauce, it was fabulous. Another one I must mention here is the MUST TRY - Beef Tartare. It's very unique and different from other restaurant. For main courses, we ordered a variety, including Pork Belly, Fish as well as Lamb Rack. All dishes are deligently presented and the portion is just nice for Asian tummy. Not a professional food commenter here, but all of us were surprised by the food standard given that kinda pricing. (Around $20 - $40 @ main dishes). There we come the dessert. I must say, it was THE BEST i've ever tried in local restaurant. This one is really "HEARTY". Especially their hazel nut chocolate thingy..forgot wut it was called. MUST TRY. I personally love Apple Crumble, and find their Apple Crumble is just nice for my taste. Not too sweet, not too heavy. It goes well after a heavy main entry. Overall, 4 of us ordered a bottle of wine, 3 appetizer, 4 main dishes, 4 dessert and some tea. It costed us around $400. WIth this kinda of food quality and service, trust me, it worths ! Anytime I would prefer this new set up, than other hotels, if i were to seek a comfortable and proper dinner without feeling too formal. Keep it up Table 66!
