| It evens out
well, i was there on 8 nov to celebrate my mommy's birthday.
i wasnt too impressed when the lady who picked up my call when i called to make a reservation sounded impatient when she wanted to know "ala carte, set or buffet". you know how some telemarketeers are. they sound so muffled over the phone so i asked her to repeat it again. she immediately let out a huge sigh as if i just wasted 2 million years of her life "ALA CARTE. SET. OR BUFFET."
i couldnt decide so i told her i will let her know the next day.
anyway, that said, we eventually decided to take the buffet. the mini buddha jump over the wall was a disappointment. but for $39.80++ per person, one shouldnt expect too much. food was generally great. the prawns (cereal prawns and steamed prawns in chinese wine) were fresh and delicious. i thought the steamed crab in chinese wine tasted bland. the chili crab was so-so too. but the fish, the spinach in 3 different eggs, salmon sashimi, and the meat platter were FANTASTIC!
i thought the pigeon soup was good too.
oh yes... when we asked for braised seafood soup, one of the waitress came by suddenly to confirm our order for "sweet and sour seafood soup".
i was a little surprised and doubled confirmed that it should be BRAISED, as indicated in the menu, and not SWEET and SOUR.
she brushed it aside and walked off, even before i finished my sentence!
well, eventually i did clarify with another more patient waitress and she said that they did not serve SWEET and SOUR soup at the restaurant. and yes, the soup is BRAISED. thank god.
well... good food... mediocre service... |
