Ah roi mak mak krub!

This isn't your typical traditional Thai food place.

If you want authentic Thai, please fly to Bangkok and go Taling Pling or Chote Chitr. Thai food here has been tamed to suit our tastes. For something different, there is this place in the very ulu Rail Mail.

After breaking into the scene with Poppi, Chris Millar is now focusing on sexing up Thai staples with explosive flavours that teases the jaded Singaporean palate.

Some dishes worked better than others. Wagyu beef lovers will enjoy the delicacy, simply grilled on a skewer, laab style (my fav) or in a entree version. This is also the only place in the world that serves ripe mango with a pavlova. The others were somewhat flaccid. The duck curry was not spicy enough to be tempered by sweet grapes and pineapple. The oversweet pad thai should be avoided by diabetics and true Thai food lovers.

The wine list here is a short but affordable mix of New World wines including the very drinkable Kissing Bridge Sauvignion Blanc at $10 per glass. Pity the cleanskin Semillion Sauvignion Blanc available at the deli was not served in the canteen.

The service was good but thumbs down for the preallocated seatings if you place a reservation on the phone. No decent person will eat dinner at 6:30pm on a Sat night!

Must Tries: Waygu beef
