| Poor chilli and black pepper crabs
Ok, it could be our luck or it's just a bad day in the office for the chef. But both the chilli and black pepper crabs we ordered during the recent visit really disappoints; I'm expecting Tung Lok to have better standards than this. The chilli crab had a "burn" taste to the sauce and we were told by the staff that the issue is due to the chilli from the suppliers. Personally, I don't think this is a valid excuse; as the kitchen should have checked the food before serving it out to unsuspecting customers. We were told they would not be serving Chilli crabs for the evening due to the issue; the chilli crab was returned and we proceeded to order black pepper crab instead...it turned out no better; too salty... I have no complains with the other dishes in the CNY set menu, but the crabs really let me down. I hope the management can improve on the quality control in the kitchen; else nobody would turn up for seafood at this outlet.
