| Atas version of TAO but better
Greeted by friendly staff and elegantly decorated ambience with perfect mix of colours. As stated, good for romantic or business dining. If reserved earlier, you can get private room at no additional cost even if u only have a group of 6.
Went there for lunch but if you are keen for an additional dish from their dinner selection, it can be done too. (38++ for lunch, 58++ for dinner)
Refreshing appetizer served beautifully in an ice-packed bowl, garnished with flowers is what made me look forward to the upcoming dishes. This is followed a platter which consisted of a tiny piece of different meat and certain way of finishing up the dish is recommended.
For starters I had the cold Alaskan crab claw salad with Japanese dressing. I simply like the way they present all their dishes as a substantial effort is put in to make sure that they are visually enticing. However, for this extra dish (dinner menu) and u have to pay for an additional $20, i think it's not worthed it.
Then, i tried to be adventurous and ordered the foie gras steamed egg. can't stand the acquired taste. This is when you have to give kudos to the observant waiter who stepped forward and suggest that he replaced another brand new dish for you. And so, I had the tempura seafood/vegetable. Nothing fantastic and a little oily.
Chose the won't-go-wrong mushroom soup but the truffle is the highlight.
For the mains, my dining-mate had the beef tenderloin on a "pu-ye" leaf and granite hot stone which you might find the kick controlling the donedess of the doneness by flipping it on the stone. I DECIDED to be conservative and go for another won't-go-wrong cos fish. Both were alright ...
Green tea crème brûlée was my choice of dessert. Lightly flavoured fragrance fr the green tea make it easier to finish up the entire bowl of custard. Also, the fruity tea has deliciously put this degustation menu to a good closure.
In summary, ambience is great but food was alright. Never enjoyed fusion food but this is acceptable. With the great ambience and attentive service, maybe you can close one eye for other stuff.

Weighty Man on Carnivore Brazilian Churrascaria (Chijmes): Never been so "carnivorous" before Try the one near Queen's driving range - better deal.
