some good soup

again my more adventurous colleague intro-ed this to me. looks pretty healthy, but i think the selection is quite limited. could've expanded to include more soup like onion perhaps. never tried the wraps/ sandwiches or any sides though, the soups alone were enuf to distract me!

there were mushroom stragonoff, beef goulash, chicken, tomato (with basil? not that i tasted), pumpkin, clam chowder and a couple more, cant remember what.

tried the mushroom on my first visit. it was thick and had a strong mushroomy taste, but not salty enough. I didn't add salt for a more authentic flavour. got a bit scared off it halfway through, due to the creamy taste. goes for $5.90 small/ abt $7 grande. overall i thought it was of acceptable standard - the marche version impresses me more.

tried the clam chowder off my friend. thought that was quite tasteless and againg, not salty enough. the tomato basil though was better. tangy tomato taste, with cream (i think), and a slight spicy taste to it. the texture was ok, thick enough not to be watery, with bites of tomato seeds apparent in every other mouthful. could have been better with a bit of chunk though. that at least, didn't deter me from the whole bowl. but it was an appetite opener, so be prepared for it being a really light lunch!

an unfunny counter staff though, tried to be humourous by saying extra bowls have to be charged. not an appetite opener when u have to pretend to smile...

Must Tries: tomato basil (cant remember the whole name!)

The cream cheese is delicious.. the sweetness of the muffin balanced by the savoury creamy goodness. Move aside and let us have more please.

on Grand Shanghai 大上海: Little portions for wedding dinner
You finally made your first review! Well, I would have thought you knew better after attending so many wedding dinners by now. Looks like u never learn - always eat something before going for wedding dinners, they never start on time.

The best meal in my life was at
sydney fish market during my honeymoon, where i gorged on wine and seafood til i almost puked!

I drink only
actually almost anything except hard liquor on rocks.

I'm allergic to
nothing so far, but don't touch beef, mutton and raw meat/ fish.

When I'm not eating I'm
